RMweb Premium Andy Hayter Posted July 12, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 12, 2019 In my case W10 and Edge. I tried Hpps://sefinecast.co.uk and got a warning of an untrustworthy site. There is something very strange going on. I suspect that validation certificates have not been updated and consequently some systems (the better protected ones - perhaps too protected) are rejecting access.
truffy
I've been able to access with Safari on OSX and iOS, but both show a warning of a not secure connection. So no https certificate.

RMweb Gold Bucoops Posted July 13, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 13, 2019 (edited) It's only got a localhost certificate - so it's not a case of keeping it up to date, it's just got a self-generated one which is essentially meaningless. But there's nothing on the site to warrant it being secured - you can't order through it etc. Just use http://www.sefinecast.co.uk and it should all be fine. It's quite a dated site, but it serves its purpose. All these work fine for me: server2012 r2 (essentially windows 8.1) - chrome and internet explorer windows 10 - chrome, internet explorer and chrome windows 7 - internet explorer and firefox. I've not managed to find anything it doesn't work on Edited July 13, 2019 by Bucoops

I didn't say there wasn't issues - I was referring to not needing an SSL certificate for the site - i.e. it should be fine without one. Sorry if i wasn't clear It seems to be predominantly Mac devices that are having the issues? Edited July 13, 2019 by Bucoops

I am sympathetic, I have similar issue on my island-publishing site currently (too many cookies message) although it still allows everyone in, but not had time yet to investigate the cause which I pretty sure will be somewhere in the Wordpress settings needing putting back to what I had it set to before an upgrade reset things back to a default! Firefox opened it yesterday on this device (Macbookpro) After today's firefox update it won't. The http version has the indexing message. The shown message on https: is - Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to www.sefinecast.co.uk. Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s). Error code: SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. In due course I would like to know the cause so I don't repeat whatever the problem is on one of the sites I manage. PenrithBeacon
I've stopped using Firefox because it has become extremely unstable and gets worse with every update. I have had to repair the registry on my desktop and I've reverted to Explorer. The machine is fine now. Regards

Steamport Southport
Fine here. But I've been having problems with Windows since about mid afternoon. It keeps trying to update, yet nothing is happening. Then I get an error message about failed update. So possibly the problems are being caused by Windows as this seems to occur every time they are doing updates. Jason
