lightengine
Judging by the 'Oranges' in the picture this is still a railway job. Anyone know where the boundary is? Boundary is the pre formed L shape concrete thingies between the rails and the road :-) Yep I know. Hat & coat.
Keith George
Anyone know the identity of the pair of class 57s that passed Dawlish last week-end [5th/6th April] Keith.

If so yes, it is always one of our first port of calls in Dawlish. I have allways thought that it is a very unfortunate name for a really fantastic shop. Keith. Keith George
Ok, I have tried one of their pasty's as I promised a few weeks ago.Pasty's very good, but sorry to say let down by availability and higher than average price. I had to call in for five days before I could obtain one, none for sale until last Friday. Each visit was during the morning. They did seem exactly the same as those available from Ryder's bakery in Dawlish Warren, same size, same filling, I would say they originated from the same supplier. Only difference was that the ones in Teignmouth were £2.75, the ones in Ryder,s £2.00. I am also a Pasty connoiseur and my working life tied up with fresh foods. Keith.[/quote Hi Keith agree with the price, maybe thats the price to pay for living in Teignmouth. Did you have a good week? regards LE Yes, very good week. To be fair I have allways found most retail price's in Teignmouth to be very reasonable, this shop seems to be an exception. We noted the price of their coffee and latte so we did not partake. How long as the business been open, can not remember seeing it before.? Keith.
BR(S)
Anyone know the identity of the pair of class 57s that passed Dawlish last week-end [5th/6th April] Keith. If you mean the ones shown in entry #2631 here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/81949-washout-at-dawlish/page-106, they were 57313 and 47746. Titan
picture of digger sitting on top of a pile of 3/4" clean chippings with dumper behind, I see it says 6 tonne on the side, I imagine that to be its TOTAL gross weight not its load capacity? Looking at the large size of the dumper I suspect it is in fact capacity, not gross weight. They can carry a heck of a lot compared to smaller ones. RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted April 13, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 13, 2014 Judging by the 'Oranges' in the picture this is still a railway job. Anyone know where the boundary is? The boundary is the edge of the road or the edge of the railway, whichever side you're looking at it from. So the road is not railway property, it is a privately-owned road, by the residents of the houses there. We are, however, rebuilding their road for them, with their full agreement, following various meetings and discussions.

298
interesting the London Midland 153 on the back of the FGW one 153325, with fGW lettering. The pair are coupled with their small cabs together. It was certainly strange to see a LM dogbox down here, I thought the pair they borrowed had been sent back.
RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted April 13, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 13, 2014 I thought the pair they borrowed had been sent back. No, I believe a deal was struck. FGW have certainly been extremely proactive and successful in obtaining more units for their 'West' fleet during the previous main franchise period. I have allways thought that it is a very unfortunate name for a really fantastic shop. Keith. Reminds me when I went with year 4 classes on their farm visit. The lady showing us around greeted us all in the reception area by saying 'Hello children my name is Gaye'. A titter went round from the 8 year olds. Did you notice we are short on cafes in Teignmouth. Last count I made it just into the 20's. I had felt that there was enough cafe's in Teignmouth. My favourite for a Mug of tea and a snack is the East Cliff Cafe near the railway walkway. Excellent price's, excellent very friendly and happy owner and staff and of course a excellent view. Keith. ChrisJD
I suspect the other webcam in Sea Lawn Terrace has been taken down by it's sponsor - the BBC? Well, from its url, I would think it is actually Site-Eye http://www.site-eye.co.uk/railway_time-lapse_films.html I guess that they are actually operating both cameras as NR contractors I imagine the second one was never intended to be accessed directly, but didn't seem to be password protected. Perhaps they have realised.
Granitechops
9.00 am my thoughts overnight the white geo sheet pulled back off the drainage gravel? more clean 3/4 stone added on top of pipe/drainage trench, piled against the wall covered with more geo which has then been fixed to the "L" pieces Or have I not fully woken up yet? Oh and a blue thingy on wheels crept into the picture prompted by wife;- (plus a bit of yellow, oh & red) not that observant after all!!! EDIT;- if you look closely at Mozzers pic there is a pile of clean stone tipped in the back ground, definately not quarry tailings etc. Edited April 14, 2014 by Granitechops
Granitechops
10.53 am At a guess the quarry was a bit slow off the mark this am unless management were leaving a long enough window for completion of overnight works? anyhow lorry tipped (8 tonnes load?) admin car in middle second lorry behind?
