Class 33 Photos

Recommended Posts

I'll always have a fondness for the humble Crompton, as this was the second loco type I qualified on back in the 80s (after the Class 47). Last year, 33108 was a visiting locomotive at the North Norfolk Railway's June diesel gala. Living in Sheringham, a quick trip down to the station was called for. A quick question, though... 108 has white window surrounds at one end only. Is this just a preserved embellishment or did she ever run like this? Pete.

33s and portions of, at and around Bournemouth.

Most, if not all of these were posted onto PCM's excellent, long running topic, on the previous version of RMweb*. A couple have been posted on different threads on this one.

Hey,

I was wandering if anyone has any good pictures of 33025 'Sultan' in BR Blue, I'm thinking about buying one of the new Heljan Class 33/0's in blue and renumber / naming it to Sultan to give my Eastleigh green versions some company!

My favourite loco! Used to work with it on a regular basis but at the time, didn't give it a thought. Isn't nostalgia wonderful!?

Aha, one of my depot's turns. East Grinstead or Uckfield line stock I think.

I used to like catching these services out of London Bridge. It would often slow down approaching New Cross Gate and in the winter all the coach lights would dim and I would have to stop reading till it picked up speed. Wouldn't be so bad these days with tablets!!

Hi,

Well currently, I have a rather personal connection with it, and seen as a 33 in Blue is my current favourite loco, it would be quite nice to have one!

Nice photos as well, thanks!

EDIT

On laptop this time

The linked picture is at Salisbury, you can see an exhibition coach in the 'depot' behind the station wall.
