w124bob
Noticed recently that the VRS have painted an ex CN GP40-2W 311 in a one off livery http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=465198&nseq=4 anyway decals are now available from Highball Graphics http://www.mgdecals.com/homepage.htm. I have no connection just a satisfied customer.
Alcanman
Very Nice. Here's another pic of 311 in service  http://photos.nerail.org/showpic/?photo=2014012214271812448.jpg&order=bydate&page=7&key=  Mal
Talltim
Your link led me to a pic of inside the cab. Interesting to see inside the nose, but what a horrible place to work. Visibility seems to be very limited by the stack of equipment http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=465233&nseq=

w124bob
Yes, looks a very uncomfortable driving position sitting side on. I know CN practically invented widecabs so I assume just left the control stand as normal. Was it NW who had left hand running and I know that CR inherited a small number of (non dynamic)GP 38's which had dual control stands giving even less cab space. They had a sort of "bay" centre pair of windowshttp://www.sjrail.com/wiki/index.php?title=P-RSL_Diesel_locomotives scroll down some photos. Penn Central 2000-14 but in 3 variations, see here http://www.hebners.net/pc/pcGP38.html
