RMweb Premium brushman47544 Posted January 18, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 18, 2018 That said we do have an excellent seaside cafe´near s called the Bluebird at Ferring, where not only do they serve big platefuls of proper grub, it is all freshly cooked from quality ingredients, and they welcome dogs indoors! TO top it all they do the best soft ice cream I've ever tasted - perfect end to a walk along the sea on the greensward on a warm summer's day! I probably went there many years ago when family lived in the area. Their advertising is a bit OTT http://www.thebluebirdcafeferring.co.uk/.

RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted January 18, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 18, 2018 Make sure you look at it from both sides. Not sure why I need to do that, although I usually have a good look from all sides before purchasing. Is there some problem with them on one side only? RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted January 18, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 18, 2018 The Breakfast menu looks OK , no sign of a fried slice, but I am sure they would do one. The lunch, award winning pie or homemade fish cakes, blow it both. Now we come to the biggest problem. There is no (I hope the Captain is sat down for this), I repeat NO pudding menu. :swoon: :swoon:

Did you all know that the Company that took over our steel industry (almost all of it) decided to use the name TaTa to represent what would happent to said industry once they had their hands on it? RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted January 19, 2018 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted January 19, 2018 (edited) On t'steam radio this morning I hear that it will be a tunnel bridge so that ships can sail swiftly without concern for having to avoid bits of stuff sticking out of the water as the 'middle' bit would actually be a tunnel. Seemingly ships will be artificially inseminated by the time this is built so human error is iliminated. So we have two Islands off shores; they could be useful for commercial purposes we are told (including Casinos and Duty Free booze.....ummmmm, lovely), then a tunnel where the main channel is (sounds familiar?). One of these Islands would be the place where the road changes so that everyone can crash into one another driving on the wrong/correct side of the road. If it is a rail bridge then I hope it will be P4 otherwise stuff might fall off. Presumably Carillion are being awarderated the contract? Best bit I heard was that it would be so good because some people do not like tunnels.............well, I can understand that they may not want to drive through a tunnel under the water so how about using a train that uses the tunnel or perhaps something called a ferry. There is nothing like that available is there? I think I should build Seaton Junction in a tunnel and rename it Honiton Tunnel, the final chapter. Grief I think the world is going bonkers. Do people really beileve this sort of thing? Gordon Bennett Edited January 19, 2018 by Mallard60022

Do people really beileve this sort of thing? Gordon Bennett "We need to take control of our boarders". So the best way to do that is build a bridge because the tunnel is not enough. Sorry Boris you are confusing me. Years ago I was given a book about the history of the then not built channel tunnel. Did you know in the middle of the wars with Napoléon we agreed with France to build a tunnel as long as it could be flooded should France invade England. I digress, the book ended with a list of dates when the tunnel began ending with "Bridge began ........" I am sure Boris has just found a copy of this book. RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted January 19, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 19, 2018 Notwithstanding the ludicrous idea of building a 22 mile bridge, has no-one considered how often if would be closed due to wind ? https://www.windfinder.com/windstatistics/channel_lightship
