RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted December 12, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 12, 2017 Best not to By train or tricycle Mike? The pub, The Miners Arms, next to Farrington Halt had the ticket office attached to it. By train as it happens - a dmu on a railtour.
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted December 12, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 12, 2017 Sorry, I thought it was Anthony Worrall-Thompson! Ah, he was running the barbecue outside the local butcher's shop at our Christmas pestival a couple of weeks back (he reputedly has an ownership shore in the shop. Judging by the smokescreen coming off the barbie he was no doubt having yet another trying at burning the sausages - he's absolutely useless at barbecueing stuff, ends up burnt evey year. he wasn't much at thieving either or though you could have a bit of fun talking about the wine list in his local gastropub when it mentioned 'only one bottle available of this excellent whatever it was' and ask if that was all he could get away with without paying.

RMweb Premium Tim Dubya Posted December 12, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 12, 2017 (edited) Nice one. Circa 1958/59 I would think? Phreezing. What a huge shame (understatement) that the Barnstaple - Ilfracombe preservation attempt failed. It would make a killing now, not just because the line is beautiful but because the roads around there are absolutely terrible.
