It's the kick up the fundament to get me started on my new layout. Now, do they do bullballs conductor rail, and pots?
RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted October 19, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 19, 2017 (edited) WTF is that? Is it a recording of an OOFS meeting? maybe it was their A.G.M.C.B A. O.H. Deer Phil my friend, that is from the Great Rock n Roll Swindle. There cannot be many punk films with the ever lovely Mrs Irene Handl in them. Mind you there weren't many British films without her at the time. Edited October 20, 2017 by Clive Mortimore

RMweb Premium St Enodoc Posted October 20, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 20, 2017 I haven't even been to the Pee Co. thread for ages and ages, so I haven't seen what the fuss has been all about. However, if further entertainment is required, one can always start an argument with oneself. RMweb Premium Tim Dubya Posted October 20, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 20, 2017 All that Peecaboob and Handmade stuff is for people with too much time on their hands. What you really need is some of this (see below), you don't have to ballast it Coz it's already got a perfectly good track bed moulded on and you don't need to waste too much space, because you can fit a double loop on a 6 x 4 board. Points are available. Also My Highly detailed Triang Princess runs perfectly well when I set it up on My Granny's Rug EZYTrack.jpg That should end the argument and everyone can put their handbags away. Schlap Dard. Class 87, far too modern for this diesel and electric modeller to get involved in. I am going to Warley representing DEMU. I will have a collection of part built EMUs in front of me. All 1960s stuff. I am sure someone will associate my modelling with knowledge of electric traction and will ask me about the new class 87 model if not the new class 90 that Bachmann have got certain people all wet in the pants over. I am practicing my blank look face. Edited October 20, 2017 by Clive Mortimore

RMweb Premium Tim Dubya Posted October 20, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 20, 2017 I need some people to discuss sensibly and with understanding the case for ripping up my Station Loops, Branch and Yards on SOSJFSOOTRAINSET and using this Pecooboobs product. If I did this it would mean I would have to rip up all the other track as well and either replace it with Finescale Fat Bottoms or adjust all the sleepers on the existing Pecooboobs C75 almost Finescale OO stuff. Graham of Grantham must be consulted or ignored depending upon your bent. I'll give you a few weeks to make a case either way and please choose a spokesperson to present the findings. Eldon Oh Phillette-O-Philth You'd be right barmy to rip up all that lovely track and replace it with PecoBull ® Personally I'd just pray for early onset crap-o-vision™ then you won't even see that you've used the wrong rail fishers I have had E O C-O-V™ for yonks (both metric & imperial) and now just have the 3 settings: 1. How many years have you got left to go up the Junction? How many years has it taken you to get trains running? Do you want to enjoy many years of trains running? Do you want to undo what you have done and start again? Do you want better looking track? Basically you have the choice of starting again or put up with what you have.
bigwordsmith
In all seriousness Phil I wouldn't go for a rip up and put down approach - apart from the cost, once track is properly laid, ballasted and weathered, all anyone will notice is the overall colour and shiny rail tops. TbH folks armoire interested in watching the things that move than the bit they've on.
RMweb Premium Tim Dubya Posted October 20, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 20, 2017 (edited) TBH I really don't think you'd notice the track once you realise that all your spams have the wrong tenders, your milk tanks have the wrong wheels and your carriages... well, they're just serving the wrong catering and 2nd class sand-witches. . RMweb Premium great northern Posted October 20, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 20, 2017 Morning Phil, From personal experience, I would suggest that the test should be this. Sit down and think very seriously and for as long as it takes you to answer this simple question. "am I now going to be content with what I have and see when I go up in the loft?" If the answer is yes, leave it, but if your feeling is that you will now never be truly happy or satisfied with it, that isn't a good point from which to try to carry on. It's no use looking at something and thinking " I wish" or " I should have", and it is very likely eventually to kill motivation. But look, have you been enjoying what you are doing? It sounds like it to me. Does it enthuse you, and does it look enough like what you want to achieve as it is? If so, put the doubts to one side, and get on with it. One last factor I suppose. Can you be sure you can motivate yourself to start all over again? If that thought makes your heart sink, take the hint and forget bull****.
RMweb Gold colin penfold Posted October 20, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 20, 2017 (edited) Or just look at the photos of Robin's layout and ask "is that trackwork good enough for me?" Edited October 20, 2017 by colin penfold
bigwordsmith
Another thought is the question of our ever decreasing mobility. On Tuesday I saw a new Consultant who told me that I've now lost about a third of my lung capacity and while they hope to be able to get a wee bit of it back the long term prognosis is of a 'continuing decline in quality of life' This got me to thinking about how I can make the best use of the time I have left before shortness of breath has an even greater impact on life than it does now, and I realised that some things are more important than others. I'd probably put bullhead tracks in the latter category!

I was pulling a fast one about the ripping up of the lovely Peccoboobs FBFSFFSOO. I really appreciate your concerns and Smiffy's situation puts things into perspective dies it not? I will only be seeking the new stuff if I decide to do a little shunting plank or similar to play with in the bath. Phibber. RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted October 20, 2017 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted October 20, 2017 (edited) Hi Andrew thanks for the edit. Your pictures. Oh yes, mine is all Pecoboobs C75 and that is sort of Fatbottom, as C75 Bullshite track was only available with 'decent' sleeper spacing (C & L and Scaleway) at the time of construction and the sleeper difference was just too great. Pecoboobs had yet to be announced. I had considered spacing the sleepers on the Pecboobs C75 in the visible areas, but after doing one metre I though FTFAGOM and just used it straight from the box.
