talwaldron
Has anyone come across a supplier who manufactures gwr style cast iron canopy supports. These are as fitted to many 1850's stations such as Aynho, Kiddlington, Heyford, Salisbury, Box St. Clears and many more. i have attached a copy of photo of St. Clears.
RMweb Gold Dan Randall Posted January 19, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 19, 2014 In 4mm scale, Chris Leigh (a.k.a. dibber25 on RMweb), used to do something similar as a whitemetal casting. I don't know if they're still available, but I'm sure someone (maybe Chris himself), will be along soon with the answer! Regards Dan
talwaldron
Thanks Dan - I will lookout for response. I am going to try and find drawings, if that is possible (or scale photos and draw in CAD) as I have had responses regarding brass etch, 3D printing and laser cutting, all of which are feasible from suitable drawings. Not sure which is going to be best, or most cost effective. At least two other interested people in also having same for their models. Terry
wightaway
Hello, did this line of enquiry get anywhere? We are looking to recreate these for the Heyford station building at Didcot Railway Centre and any drawings or models would be greatfully received!
