All very well and good but then they will have access to the chocolate hobnobs!......and that is just 'unacceptable standards at model railway shows'.... That's where magic happens to make the illusion of a railway at the front! You wouldn't want to watch a concert from back stage....(and valuables security issues too?) 3 1
RMweb Gold 5BarVT Posted November 28, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 28, 2022 Poor choice of word on my part (sorry): viewing, not access. But points about security are well made too. Paul. Good to know about the choccy hobnobs for future reference . . .!
Jack374
Thanks to the team for a fab weekend - only a couple of days rest now before we do it all again next weekend! We had a couple of guest items of stock, namely a mighty fine FNA-D and 'Caroline' from Revolution, and a tasty Colas 56 from Cavalex. We also spotted a couple of guys with measuring sticks against an 08 - any ideas??? 😁 Here are a handful of photos I was able to grab - as has been eluded to, it was 2-3 deep for most of the weekend. It also appears RMweb will only allow me to upload about 3Mb worth of images, which is a less than ideal... There are some great YouTube videos showing the layout - I've added a link to one at the bottom of this post. Thanks, Jack.

RMweb Premium newbryford Posted December 3, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted December 3, 2022 Two shows in two weekends. We must be mad/keen/stupid* *delete as appropriate. I thinks there's something missing. But don't worry, we'll be all set up and ready to roll Saturday morning at the Blackburn & East Lancs BELMRS show.

Jeremy Davison
I went to see Deadman's Lane today at Oswaldtwistle as I couldn't make Warley last weekend, and enjoyed the layout, the other layouts, traders and the great tea & cakes. and of course, chatting to Mick and his crew. Whilst it was quite busy earlier on, this is a picture taken at 4:15pm this afternoon, so it you want a really good view of Deadman's Lane you still have time to go tomorrow. (Bit quieter than Warley!!) Cheers Jeremy 14

Popular Post Jack374
Two exhibitions in as many weekends - who thought that was a good idea!? This weekend at Blackburn was a much more friendly and less busy show, in stark contrast to Warley. I managed to get in front of the layout to get some proper photos, some of which are below: For those on Facebook, there are more full res photos on Deadmans Lane page, link below: https://www.facebook.com/DeadmansLane Only 12 weeks until we're at the SEC for Model Rail Scotland...I think I might have just about recovered by then... Thanks, Jack. 26
RMweb Premium newbryford Posted December 7, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted December 7, 2022 (edited) Thanks to all that came and saw Deadmans Lane over the two shows. My knees were starting to ache after two weekends in a row. 11 weeks off now until the next outing at the Model Rail Scotland show in Glasgow on 24/25/26 Feb 2023. The time will be spent catching up with a few maintenance and detailing jobs. Edited December 7, 2022 by newbryford

There's one on you tube just now and it's drone footage of the actual area. It's very interesting.

RMweb Premium newbryford Posted January 4, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted January 4, 2023 9 years to the day since the first bits of plywood for DL arrived at NB Towers. Should be loading it in 7 weeks for the next show. 12
RMweb Premium newbryford Posted January 31, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted January 31, 2023 I feel honoured to see myself and Deadmans Lane nominated in the BRMA list. (See header of all pages!) Looking forward to the trip north in a few weeks time. All the stock wheels have been cleaned - again..... I usually end up taking too much stock to shows, but never really get around to swapping any at a 2 day show - apart from the odd loco that misbehaves, but at Glasgow, as it is a 3-day event, I have a plan that 4-5 trains may get a wholesale swap out, along with a few more locos to give them a spin around DL.

Lowlander
In this day and age they most likely do a deliveroo from one end of the hall to you. Easiest job the wee guy on the scooter will have all weekend. 1
