RMweb Premium 2ManySpams Posted September 10, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 10, 2016 Draughty, rattly and smelling faintly of wee? SuperVoyager - noisy, rattly and smelling strongly of wee. Well that was my train on Friday.
RMweb Premium 2ManySpams Posted September 10, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 10, 2016 I did wonder how your loco classification system would cope with the 101 Easy, I ignored it. It's obviously a coach with all those windows down the side.

SuperVoyager - noisy, rattly and smelling strongly of wee. Well that was my train on Friday. Well, I suppose it goes to show how advanced the first generation DMUs were if two subsequent generations of diesel unit still haven't been able to resolve these issues! At least with a 101, you had the view out of the cab windows, as long as the driver hadn't pulled the blinds down.
RMweb Premium Mark Forrest Posted September 11, 2016 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 11, 2016 The layout has been out in the shed these past few weeks while various messy tasks were taken care of. Today, the plan is to set it up in the spare room and give the new fiddle yard a bit of a test.
RMweb Premium 2ManySpams Posted September 11, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 11, 2016 Probably useful to get it inside and start drying out any damp that got into it in the shed. Not a good idea to go straight from damp shed to hot exhibition hall.

RMweb Premium Mark Forrest Posted September 11, 2016 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 11, 2016 Both the new fiddle yards seem to be working OK, after tracing two shorts to copperclad sleepers I'd forgotten to gap; one sleeper in each fiddle yard, just to keep things symmetrical. Once that was sorted I've been able to get on with fixing some more of the buildings in position and generally tidying things up. Main focus for the next few days is getting the stock ready and checking coupling alignment.

RMweb Premium 2ManySpams Posted September 13, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 13, 2016 PS, I do think you have wasted space at the front. You should seriously think about adding a new siding and a rail served dairy. You can then have The Tanks....

RMweb Premium Mark Forrest Posted September 14, 2016 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 14, 2016 An early start this morning saw the last of the wagon couplings adjusted, which just leaves the locos to have a quick look at this evening. The large industrial building along the back of the layout got a partial repaint last night, which may then need a wash over to blend it with its surroundings. Bits of fence, wall and grass are springing up where previously there were none too.
