RMweb Premium Welly Posted September 11, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 11, 2014 ^^^ In the above shots, only the workbench clutter gave away the fact that it is not a real location being photographed! There is a certain atmosphere about Sturford station.
Doughnut
Thanks Welly. Yes, the lights and the nights drawing in, do give it a 'feel'. The Station house is said to be haunted!!!! Dave
Doughnut
Just finished the track detailing and weathering, at Sturford Station. Also installed the last signals. I've made a start on the Peco over-roof too, but it's going to take some time. So many bits and pieces to put together, just to make one roof section....and I need about 8!!!! Jaz
Thanks for the comments, Jim,Terry,Ken & Jaz. Glad you're going for it Terry. Look forward to seeing them on Glebe Road. Im not managing to get as much as usual done but at least it's moving in right direction. A bit more done tonight: Stop lights inserted on all five platforms and the fueling road buffer. Some platform seating too and another single departure screen. Station name boards too and the odd drainage catchpit. Jintyman
Superb work there, the attention to detail is astounding!!! I read someone's post somewhere on here, that they never see axle counters modelled, well they haven't been looking in the right place obviously!!! And those signals are to die for, as said above, astounding Jinty ;-)

David Todd
Ok, unless I have missed it some where............... What camera, are you using for the ground level shot's............ For me, I have to buck my idea's up,looking at your work....trouble with me,........I loose interest,in what I am doing, very rapidly........... Well done for sharing some very good layout pic's, maybe your on the long/short list, for the new style mag....soon............
Doughnut
The camera is an old Samsung 3.2mp camera. I use the macro function on it to get close up pics. To avoid blurring due to movement I always set the 2sec. timer, after positioning the camera somewhere where its not going to move. Dave
hybridangel77
Some fantastic photos once again Dave but what are the small yellow boxes poking out of the ballast. i have seen them before but unsure what they are and did you scratch build them? Doughnut
Another week and a bit closer to the finish line with Minsterley. The over-roof is getting there but it's taking some doing.....painting every frame of glass and every column....nightmare!!! One of those jobs your happier to finish than start. Ive added a few track circuit boxes to the axle counters also. Dave
Jintyman
Hi Dave, Well I've got to be honest, I never liked the Peco Overall roof, but seeing it in place like you've done it, with the red support columns it lends itself to modern image very nicely!!! Great work as usual. Jinty ;-)
