Well, a few picture's of last night's effort's, I still have a lot to learn.

The pic's were taken with a small webcam, some zoomed, hence, pixel distortion.

Moorings to you.

Today I decided to try the cam truck, when/if you view the pic's,it is not your eye's, the lens is a fish-eye.

Moorings, to you.

Hope your weekend is going well.

Over the last couple of weeks, especially the last four days, I have, become

more and more, disillusioned with my platforms and am considering,a rebuild.

My main failure,I feel is with the canopy uprights and the method of fixing.

Hi David,

Love the Australian Javellin!!!!!! :jester:

Why are you having second thoughts about your canopy supports?

In my humble opinion, I think you've done a superb job with them. I know the blue lines did your head in a bit, but the whole picture is very convincing.

Just my tuppence worth!!!

Jinty ;-)

I would not do anything hasty, dt.  I understand the disillusionment, and acknowledge that many times, the desire to "do better" can lead to a rework that give a modeller more satisfaction.  Alternately, NOT reworking, and leaving something that is going to give you irrits every time you cast your eye over it is also not a goal to aim for.

My method of dealing with thoughts of that nature is to walk away from the task at hand, and do something else.  Maybe an hour,  Maybe a week.   Then come back, and ask yourself are you still not happy.

The time + effort Vs reward equation is a strange one, and sometimes you have to just suck it up, knowing what bothers you will only bother you, and when you are happily running trains and all else is well, that canopies may not matter so much...

Cheers

Scott

Sorry about that.  The stubborn part of me wasnt going to let it go.

When you paste the YouTube code into the box when adding "media", you need to delete the "s" from the header "https" so it just reads "http"

No idea why it works, but it does.

I can't comment on the canopy's as you've stolen them from the pictures!

I think your doing yourself a big injustice though as they looked fine to me! were you going to fix the canopy's permanently to the station when complete?

Cheers

Graham.

Well, thanks to you both for your   optimism ,

I put the canopy back, the supports that are out of line, have no contact with the platform at the mo.

Personally i think the canopy's look great, if some of the uprights don't quite meet the platform i'm sure it could be sorted with a file and some glue, Aren't the platforms removable to? if so surely the canopy's could be fixed directly to the platforms to make them more secure etc?

You know what looks right so i'm sure it'l turn out fine.

Cheers

Graham.
