Still with their through steam pipes for double-heading with cl.27s on the West Highland Line. It meant they didn't have to swap the locos around when they ran round the train for the return journey. 2

RMweb Premium keefer Posted July 29 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 29 Shiny shiny! Have seen another pic of a test train en route with two cl.20s like this - unusual in that there were two locos but also that they were like this i.e. nose-to-cab. Was more usual to see a single loco on test.

To hear this pair out of Warrington with the peak shoving was a brilliant soundtrack. It was difficult to get some decent photos of the 20's but I managed a couple of a bloke's bald head and a catenary mast so I'll take that 😀 Regards Guy

This pair probably attracted more than the usual attention as they were the first ones released brand new in BR blue livery with full yellow ends. Bit of a scoop by Dave I reckon!

The operator has changed but it's still nice to see these locos back doing what they've been doing for around three decades now, and looking in tip-top condition too! All hail D8101 and D8325 😊!!
