Adrian Wintle
On my travels this weekend I swung by one of my favourite train-watching locations (see http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/23279-a-few-canadian-pictures/Â ) and spotted this tucked off to the side: Â A short hike up the service track (two muddy wheeltracks with 2" vegetation in the centre) gave some better views: Â And its runner: Â With it were a pair of ratty gons: Â Obviously they had been doing some trackwork. To get to the service track I had to use this (these - there are two)Â as a stepping stone (the beginning of the track was a mud bog): Â And hidden in the grass: Â (Pardon the shoes, it was the only dry place to stand) Â There was the remains of another switch hidden in the grass. Â They had also been renewing rail, with annotations: Â Although I'm not that impressed: Â As I got back to the bridge, I managed to catch this: Â Of course, one CP and one CN freight came through as I left (saw them from the road while driving).
