RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted July 7, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 7, 2021 I think you are confusing haggi (of course the accepted dog latin plural of haggis) with Welsh Mountain sheeps, which are left or right handed, or uphill/downhill, according to leg length to cope with the geography. I once successfully convinced an Indian friend's wife who was going for a weekend in Edinburgh that haggi infested Princes' Street Gardens, hiding in bushes, 3-legged and with no eyes, mouth, or nostrils but with little piggy curly tails, and would attack you because they didn't realise how much bigger than them you were. They are, I told her, capable of asorbing and subsuming small dogs, and that's nothing to what they will try to do to you in the mating season... This is an intelligent and university educated woman who is normally pretty quick on the uptake, but I also managed to convince her to beware of 'cuckoo spit', as cuckoos are highly territorial and will spit at you to defend their territory! 2 1

Steamport Southport
Me and my brother used to call my dad Bagpuss. When Bagpuss got up, everyone else had to get up When Bagpuss went to sleep, everyone else had to go to sleep.... He soon learnt the lesson that teenagers stay up well past 10pm and my mum is the boss.... 2 1

CameronL
Can we just clear up this whole bagpipe thing? The pipes are a war instrument used to spur soldiers on in battle. They have been used for this purpose from ancient times right up to the Second World War. In WWII there were pipers playing during the D-Day landings, and Scottish infantry regiments often went into battle with the regimental pipe band playing behind them. Conclusion: When there's a pipe band playing in the background, people will run uphill through machine gun fire to get away. 1 2
