I guess that's what happens when you've got an owner who doesn't accept that he hasn't got the wherewithal to afford to restore a car, but equally doesn't want to let anyone else have a go either. Rugd1022
He'd been turning people away from his door since 1989 apparently. Today, occupying the same spot on the pavement where the poor Jensen sat is a late '80s Bentley. I wonder if it'll still be there in twenty or thirty years time... Rugd1022
Off to Brooklands tomorrow for the annual Italian Car Day, with a bit of luck there might be an Espada or two knocking baout but I doubt there will be this many... I'll probably return home either under a black cloud or on cloud nine...!

keefr2
it's older than my MGB, so I think it counts. Did you click on the 'discover' link on the page; "In 2017, Morris Commercial will re-launch the iconic J-Type as an all-electric light commercial vehicle. The vehicle will have a real world range of over 90 miles and a top speed of around 90mph." I think your B still trumps it in the classic stakes...! It appears to be based on one of the current small vans such as the Belingo. I would be interested if it was available as a hybrid and as a people carrier. Rugd1022
A couple of quickies from this morning's Supercar do down at Brooklands, I got there quite early so grabbed this shot with no distractions - two very rare gems in the shape of a RHD Maserati Mistral which was for sale, and a Lamborghini Silhouette, of which only fifty two were built... You'd think the loudest thing there would've been one of the F1 cars present being revved to the limit but no, much louder was a heavily modified 1965 Iso Rivolta! Pics to follow...

RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted July 17, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 17, 2017 So who owns Morris Commercial now? BMW or Shanghai International? Possibly neither of them, the marque disappeared about 55 years ago.
Wolseley
So who owns Morris Commercial now? BMW or Shanghai International? I'm not sure about Morris Commercial, but Morris is owned by SAIC Motor Corporation Limited. BMW retained only Mini, Riley and Triumph.
Horsetan
I'm not sure about Morris Commercial, but Morris is owned by SAIC Motor Corporation Limited. BMW retained only Mini, Riley and Triumph. Apart from the revived Mini, I'm not sure that the brand owners have any intention of resurrecting any of the myriad other names. They would rather just sit on them to ensure that nobody else can use them.
Rugd1022
Just found this in the hard drive - in the Summer of '68 The Stones went for a blast up the M1 to Derbyshire for a photo session, using various cars including Keith's fabulous Bentley S3 Flying Spur, affectionately known as 'Blue Lena'...

RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted July 25, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 25, 2017 Its amazing what you can find on your doorstep. A few days ago a display of vintage petrol pumps dating as far back as 1910 was posted on Facebook. A nicely laid out 'museum quality' display with boards giving the history of each item. Biggest surprise to me was that it was only 10-15 minutes drive from my home. The display is in the reception of a company named Gilbarco who specialise in fuel pumps. As far as I am aware the display is not open to the general public but I intend to contact the company to find out. FYI the company is based in Basildon not far from the New Holland tractor plant.
