Remember that Jensen Interceptor which has been rotting away on the pavement in a small village near Lutterworth...?

What a tragic waste, whatever the circumstances behind the owner's intentions!

I guess that's what happens when you've got an owner who doesn't accept that he hasn't got the wherewithal to afford to restore a car, but equally doesn't want to let anyone else have a go either.

He'd been turning people away from his door since 1989 apparently. Today, occupying the same spot on the pavement where the poor Jensen sat is a late '80s Bentley. I wonder if it'll still be there in twenty or thirty years time...

The Bentley will. He won't.

Off to Brooklands tomorrow for the annual Italian Car Day, with a bit of luck there might be an Espada or two knocking baout but I doubt there will be this many...

it's older than my MGB, so I think it counts.

Did you click on the 'discover' link on the page;

"In 2017, Morris Commercial will re-launch the iconic J-Type as an all-electric light commercial vehicle. The vehicle will have a real world range of over 90 miles and a top speed of around 90mph."

I think your B still trumps it in the classic stakes...!

Not old and a van rather than a car but interesting nevertheless. http://www.morris-commercial.com/morris-j-type/

That's just gone on my 'lottery win must buy' list...!!

It appears to be based on one of the current small vans such as the Belingo. I would be interested if it was available as a hybrid and as a people carrier.

So is the bloke with the broom there to sweep up the residue of rust and small components? ;)

A couple of quickies from this morning's Supercar do down at Brooklands, I got there quite early so grabbed this shot with no distractions - two very rare gems in the shape of a RHD Maserati Mistral which was for sale, and a Lamborghini Silhouette, of which only fifty two were built...

You'd think the loudest thing there would've been one of the F1 cars present being revved to the limit but no, much louder was a heavily modified 1965 Iso Rivolta! Pics to follow...  ;)

So who owns Morris Commercial now? BMW or Shanghai International?

I'm not sure about Morris Commercial, but Morris is owned by SAIC Motor Corporation Limited.  BMW retained only Mini, Riley and Triumph.

Apart from the revived Mini, I'm not sure that the brand owners have any intention of resurrecting any of the myriad other names. They would rather just sit on them to ensure that nobody else can use them.

Just found this in the hard drive - in the Summer of '68 The Stones went for a blast up the M1 to Derbyshire for a photo session, using various cars including Keith's fabulous Bentley S3 Flying Spur, affectionately known as 'Blue Lena'...

Its amazing what you can find on your doorstep. A few days ago a display of vintage petrol pumps dating as far back as 1910 was posted on Facebook. A nicely laid out 'museum quality' display with boards giving the history of each item. Biggest surprise to me was that it was only 10-15 minutes drive from my home. The display is in the reception of a company named Gilbarco who specialise in fuel pumps. As far as I am aware the display is not open to the general public but I intend to contact the company to find out. FYI the company is based in Basildon not far from the New Holland tractor plant.
