RMweb Premium Steadfast Posted July 24 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 24 When the Severn Tunnel was shut, 528 was one of the locos engaged on the trains to the site. Seen below on 4th July. 66528 'Madge Elliot' in the short lived Freightliner Powerhaul livery sits in Westbury Up Yard at the head of 6F07 Westbury - Patchway. This departure in the early hours of the following morning was heading to the Severn Tunnel worksite, a blockade which saw the Down line renewed. RMweb Premium Steadfast Posted July 27 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 27 Here's a few more recent ones to keep things up to date, well ish. All linked from Flickr. A few of 6M47 and 6V10, these are the loaded and empty halves of the same service. A brief pause in Newbury as 66136, still carrying its Yiwu China branding, is seen working 6M47 Westbury - Acton. After an early run along the Berks and Hants, there was about a 25 minute wait at an eerily empty Reading station for 66115 and 6M47 Westbury - Acton. This would follow the first passenger service of the day, operated by a class 165. 66130 sits on the fuel point at St Blazey waiting its next move. The fuel point has many memories of the past painted on the wall - the markers of where to stop included 37, 47, 60, 66, 67 and interestingly, Class 153. After working 6V10 to Westbury from Acton, 66050 is seen running round its wagons before being shut down in the Down Yard. Even departing Acton half an hour late, this time of year 6V10 is a nice run down the B&H in daylight. Jo
