RMweb Premium Steadfast Posted July 10, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 10, 2018 I reckon the combination of the DVT and the masts makes a pretty good framing for a "drat" shot, Dave! Jo

RMweb Gold 4630 Posted July 29, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 29, 2018 (edited) Not exactly a taxing load for a class 66. Freightliner 66539 plus a solitary MJA (?) MWA* wagon rumbles passed Bradley Junction, Huddersfield with 6Z47, 15.22 Crewe Basford Hall to Leeds Balm Road, on 29th July 2018. * As suggested below by Mick (Newbryford) and Jo (Steadfast). RMweb Premium newbryford Posted July 29, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 29, 2018 Not exactly a taxing load for a class 66. Freightliner 66539 plus a solitary MJA (?) wagon More likely to be a MWA unless you've got one of the first two MJAs that were built as single wagons with buffers each end. Cheers Mick
RMweb Premium Steadfast Posted July 30, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 30, 2018 I agree, looks like the new style writing on the side and also taller than an MJA Jo
RMweb Gold 4630 Posted July 31, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 31, 2018 A couple from my travels earlier today; GBRf 66709 'Sorrento' accelerates through Doncaster on the 'Down Fast' line at the start of its journey with 4N80, 11.26 Doncaster Down Decoy to North Blyth, empty bogie coal hoppers. Freightliner 66554 approaches Horbury Cutting with 4E10, 09.57 Fiddlers Ferry Power Station to York Yard South, empty bogie coal hoppers.

AberdeenBill
Diesel down the street... 66532 parked up in Dyce as part of the Aberdeen to Dyce redoubling project. There are two trains on the project working out of Dyce Raith's Farm sidings, one of Salmons for new sleepers and one of auto-ballasters, both top-and-tailed by Freightliner 66s. Peter Kazmierczak
Saw 66413 today (the one in the new Freightliner livery) and, to be honest, it doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. Can still smell the new paint on her. Edited August 5, 2018 by Peter Kazmierczak
RMweb Gold 4630 Posted August 6, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 6, 2018 The regular aggregate workings along the Calder Valley destined for the unloading points around Manchester originate from Arcow Quarry, with traction provided by GBRf class 66s. A 'short term plan' 6Z99 from Rylstone Quarry to Bredbury' popped up in the schedule for today however, booked for Freightliner. Shanks Waste Solutions liveried 66522 was doing the honours, approaching Brighouse. Similar 6Z97 workings are in the schedule for Tuesday and Wednesday so it will be interesting to see if either, both or neither of those run.

simon47603
Popped across to Margam on Saturday morning after finishing my shift in the Abbey at 06.30am! 66509 was sitting on one of the roads. With another up by the Fueling Point, lined up with a number of 66's and 60's. It was still they're this morning. When I figure out how to post pictures from my phone. I will post them!
