SWT442
Here's a few more from me. First up is white roofed 66177. Seen at Campbell Road with 0Z69 Eastleigh Yard to Southampton Western Docks, this was to collect a DBS run Boat Train. (30.6.12) The only Euroshed I've seen. 66029 does the honours on (I think) 6E84 Middleton Towers to Barnaby Dun at Scrooby on ECML. (9.8.11) Red Shed 66101 has a heavy load as it passes through Pooksgreen on the outskirts of Marchwood with 6B45 Eastleigh Yard to Marchwood MOD. (5.2.13) Captured just yesterday, 66183 sweeps around the curve at Campbell Road with 6V62 Fawley CAD to St Philips Marsh. (25.6.13) Now in DRS' hands, ex-Fastline 66303 comes through Newport with 4V38 Daventry to Wentloog LessCo Express. (21.9.12) The beating heart of every 66. 66414's 710 engine is seen exposed during a DRS open day at Crewe Gretsy Bridge. (10.7.10) Seen not long after Fastline's collapse, DRS owned 66434 heads though Warrington Bank Quay with empty log wagons. (9.7.10) GBRf's Big Boat liveried 66709 "Sorento" hurtles through Cheddington with 4M23 Felixstowe to Hams Hall. (1.6.12) Metronet liveried 66722 "Sir Edward Watkin" trundles through Shawford with 5O65 Peterborough to Eastleigh barrier move. (21.5.13) Ex-"Barbie" liveried 66729 "Derby County" heads through Shawford with 4Y19 Mountfield to Southampton Western Docks gypsum. (20.5.13) One of Colas' original 66's, 66841 heads away from Warrington Bank Quay with 6J37 Carlisle to Chirk logs. (9.7.10) Keep the pics coming guys! Some cracking shots on here! Andy.

RMweb Premium Steadfast Posted July 5, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 5, 2013 Just the exact image that I'm trying to portray with my model TTA's....... (Although there is a short TTA set with a 60 on the Tugs thread that is possibly more appropriate!) Cheers, Mick I did think of you and your TTA rake as I posted it actually! RMweb Premium Steadfast Posted July 6, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 6, 2013 Nice stuff Nidge, out of interest how far do you take 6M40? Do you pick it up from Westbury, or is there a crew change around Oxford? If so presumably it's a Bristol guy from Westbury? jo
Rugd1022
Nice stuff Nidge, out of interest how far do you take 6M40? Do you pick it up from Westbury, or is there a crew change around Oxford? If so presumably it's a Bristol guy from Westbury? jo Cheers Jo.... we relieve it at Oxford at 14.00hrs and take it forward to Stud Farm Quarry where we get relief later in the evening, at around 20.30. It's usually a Bristol or Reading man we take off at Oxford, both depots cross covering each other's jobs from time to time. RMweb Premium Steadfast Posted July 7, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 7, 2013 Thanks Nidge, furthest north I've snapped it is Hinksey, though it'd be nice to get some shots further away from my usual GWML stomping ground! Rivercider
Jo, I have always thought that a train in the landscape can be a thing of beauty, and, although I find class 66s a bit functional and brutal, some of your pictures make it so, thanks for sharing cheers

Rugd1022
Jo, I have always thought that a train in the landscape can be a thing of beauty, and, although I find class 66s a bit functional and brutal, some of your pictures make it so, thanks for sharing cheers Good point there Rivercider - I don't know about Jo, but I find it difficult to take a 'good' shot of a 66, or another shot that happens to have a 66 in it (hence some of my more 'arty farty' shots posted here and elsewhere!). Occasionally a nice composition will just present itself, it's then just a question of spotting it and having a camera to hand...
