Steve-e
Just one today, a different view of Bristol Bath Road and a different angle on the Class 37. Shows how to weather the roof and nose area for the modeller and also some nice track weathering and some nice depot touches to the right... Hopefully of use to someone. 37256 Bristol Bath Road 17/11/1984 Cheers Steve Edited October 28, 2014 by Steve-e

Alcanman
Steam heat 37191 awaiting departure with the early afternoon Fort William - Mallaig service, August 1984. Arrival at Mallaig, in atrocious weather. Mrs A and M-I-L thought I was taking a pic of them, but, of course 37191 and driver got in the way. 37191 runs around The oil terminal at Mallaig, I decided not to walk the plank! Departure late due to late running ferry, freezing cold in the coach until steam heat comes on! Happy days! Arrive late back at Fort William and then drive back to Oban in the dark and pouring rain! D6775
A selection of Dutch 37's on passenger work I scanned the other night: 37258 & 37142 06.43 EXD-RDG 13/08/94 at Exeter. 37258 & 37142 06.43 EXD-RDG 13/08/94 at Reading. 37142 & 37258 on the ECS off the 06.43 EXD-RDG 13/08/94 at Didcot. The pair of 37's above had dragged the Tram from Laira to Exeter ECS then worked ECS from Reading to St Phillips Marsh. 37141 at Weymouth about to work to Bristol. 37230 at Cardiff after working from Bristol. I've got the details of the last two pictures, just not to hand!
Mattydude
I used to watch the iron ore trains pass the second steepest bank on their journey from Port Talbot to Llanwern near my home in Llanharan. Once the class 56's arrived in 1980 and the train length increased from 27 to 30 wagons, on occasions two 56's weren't available. Margam Depot then had a problem so they put plan 'B' in operation and due to the fact 3 x 37's weren't allowed to haul 30 wagons, one 56 was used in tandem with 2 x 37's (So two crews were required). I saw this combination about 30 times, but have never seen pictures published reflecting this. The empties would then return with the single 56 and 37's light engines prior. They would then either haul the next leg of the days roster or as was the case usually another 56 was available so the next service was 2 x 56's. I attach a few images of some workings back in 1980/81 thanks Ian Edited November 9, 2014 by Mattydude
Mattydude
Other workings of interest at my home village of Llanharan back in the late 70's early 80's was the Llanharan to Didcot Power Station MGR Daily Working (Mon-Fri) loaded to 46 wagons. This working started with Test Bed 47901 (Based at Ebbw Jnc) & a canton class 56 for the first workings back in 1981, this then evolved into any traction plus a class 56, so was a very interesting working indeed. Sorry about the quality of the pics but it was a while ago now!! Also included are a few pics of the triple headed iron ore workings with class 37's passing Llanharan on the empties.

I saw this working, or the similar Newport Docks - Didcot PS service once or twice. However as a clerk in Bristol TOPS we had to report it calling at Stoke Gifford upside where the assisting loco came off, thanks for sharing these photos cheers
