Jaz
This side is going to be harder, first off I did the white base for the pink and moved as I noticed mistakes rmweb943class66BD Then it occurred to me if the GBRF does not fit....I am in serious trouble and I might need to jiggle the graffiti to ensure it does fit......right of the bleeding door!!!!!! getting into the grooves got the white handles a lick of turquoise, but they are silver in real life so not a problem regardless I wiped the turquoise off the less paint thickness the better. Then I painted the yellow at the top intending to do a second coat, it was going over the ribbon ok, when I decided to do the yellow ribbon O M G the yellow goes on much better onto the white......Newbryford aid he painted his white first......no guesses for why why you see the difference!!!!!!. Halt painting wait to dry and white in the gaps!!!!. rmweb945class66BF Notice the white and turquoise cover the ribbon ok.
Jaz
And for anyone new looking and thinking....OMG way to ruin a class66.......... rmweb935class66AZ Once convinced it is ok it will need a seal. Newbryford says Klear is a good sealer. And if it is good enough for him........ The real is photographed on a dull day see the heavy clouds? Plus men is under a fluorescent light at the moment which bleaches the light. I'll put up a day light picture tomorrow. ukrailways1970today.me.uk
Kal
Shouldn't be a problem. Looking forward to the results. Cheers, Mck Well the Klear seemed to provide a good base, or certainly it did not react with any of the paints so no harm done Edited March 4, 2014 by Kal

Jaz
change of tack....paint yellow back to opaque white rmweb946classBG then I thought in for a penny in for a pound rmweb947class66BH Don't worry about the paint on the grill it is smother in Humbrol maskol, which has basically gone clear!!! so no better than the artists maskol, except when painting it on if you prefer purple to white......

Jaz
I don't think mick / Newbryford has any thing to worry about......although i have been messing on his hello workbench thread... . Luckily we had the pleasure of meeting him at Wrecrail, and he has been kind enough to give us pointers....which we have followed. So I think he gets the guru emoticon.
Kal
I mentioned earlier renumbering GBRF 66702 to 66706, It turn out to be something of a trial and so, I didn't feel like posting it at the time. But it is all modelling Good and bad , so here we go: This is how it started out.
Kal
Getting the Number off the side was a real pain, it took several hours, The transfers didn't want to part from the paper and when I finally got one on it stuck to the cloth I was drying it with!!! Anyway luckily there was a spare and I finally got them on and they looked good, until they dried: as you can see I got some silvering O dang, well I will have to see how I can recover the things, or start again maybe, we will see
Kal
Well after a bitter of inner reflection and some perseverance under a lighted magnifying glass armed with a needle, microsol and a small paint brush, I think these are a lot better, not perfect but with some weather or a touch up of the yellow are passable
