bescotbeast
I've always found Shawplan good for plates, but they're showing apteryxes where the price code should be, maybe worth a call. If not, Guilplates are very good. There was a thread somewhere on here about Halfords car colours and their matching railway associated colours. Jinty ;-) Thanks Jinty I'll have a search later, I plan to go into Halfords tomorrow with a suitable colour swatch to try and see what I can get too match.
bescotbeast
Having done a quick look on the forums as you suggested Jinty, Peugeot Antelope Beige looks close to Intercity Executive Light grey.
bescotbeast
Well after a visit to Halfords I've bought a can of "Lada Cream" as this seems to my eyes the closest match to Intercity Executive Light Grey. At the moment the bodyshell is being stripped, once I've got some results to share I'll post then here. Simon

ess1uk
You may want to paint the ends of the PWA brown. I did mine with Railmatch bauxite. Close enough colour for me and with muck on it looks loads better.

ess1uk
Only know as I was doing a little research on PWAs and what flows they were used on so found loads of photos. To be honest most were so filthy you couldn't tell what Colour they were any way.
bescotbeast
Well i've finished all four of my Bogie Ferryvans now Weathered Ferry vans by bescotbeast, on Flickr Only know as I was doing a little research on PWAs and what flows they were used on so found loads of photos. To be honest most were so filthy you couldn't tell what Colour they were any way. I'll probably do that and weather the ends some more to cover up the white ends.

bescotbeast
Well I've finished respraying 86214 into it's new coat of Intercity paint as 86501, there are a few blemishes I need to touch up but otherwise i'm chuffed with the job I've managed. My spraying booth has been my back garden (in between gusts of wind) and the only Railmatch paint i've used is the Intercity Executive Dark grey, the Red is Vauxhall Flame Red, the white is Halfords white primer, the Yellow is Vauxhall Mustard Yellow and the light grey is Lada Cream. My next trip to Halfords will involve tring to find a match for Dark Executive grey for my future projects. 86501 emerges from the paint shop by Simon Barnes, on Flickr

bescotbeast
Looks good Simon, The yellow looks a bit pale though. Cheers Peter. I think that's the lighting in the picture Peter, just nipped up to check for myself and placed the body shell against a Bachmann 37 and a Heljan 47 and in my eyes the Vauxhall Mustard Yellow is a very close match. If I get chance tomorrow I'll post a comparison picture so you can see. Thanks for stopping by. Simon
bescotbeast
Well it's time to update my thread after the arrival of two parcels this morning. My repaint on the Heljan Class 86 is now finished and I just need to add a pantograph and sort the bus bar on the roof plus locate a set of nameplates. 86501 Speedlink by Simon Barnes, on Flickr My next project involves another Heljan Class 86 215 which will be repainted to become 86434 University of London 86215 by Simon Barnes, on Flickr 86434_2.8.88 by runtheredline, on Flickr and finally I've acquired 4 wagons from "Jinty" of Wrexbury fame 4 new arrivals by Simon Barnes, on Flickr
RMweb Gold wombatofludham Posted May 15, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 15, 2015 Repaint looks good. I'll have to commission you to paint up my DC Kits 304 when I get round to building it. I always thought the "Anglia" livery should have had a silver knight on horseback above it, the lettering is so like the old television company logo.

Cheers Mark, for the next repaint all the colours will be sourced from Halfords, after a visit yesterday evening I've chosen Halfords Rover Tempest Grey as a replacement for Howes Intercity Executive Dark Grey, to my eyes it's spot on. bescotbeast
Great wagons. How many of the PWAs have you got now? I've got 4 at the moment, one in grey primer, one in UKF livery with Bachmann couplers and two that have just arrived from Jinty with Kadee couplers, my plan is to scrap the DCE siding and reuse it as a siding used for unloading fertiliser traffic from UKF. bescotbeast
Time for some more progress to report, i'm making good progress with my Class 86 respray although the weather here today is terrible so I won't be able to do anything today 86434 by Simon Barnes, on Flickr I've decided to move the weighbridge building so that I can extend two of the sidings in the yard as space is at a premium extending by Simon Barnes, on Flickr And 86501 finds itself much in demand on Speedlink workings SAM_3000 by Simon Barnes, on Flickr SAM_3001 by Simon Barnes, on Flickr SAM_3002 by Simon Barnes, on Flickr
Jintyman
I always thought the "Anglia" livery should have had a silver knight on horseback above it, the lettering is so like the old television company logo. And a picture of Nicholas Parsons on the side as well!!!! I like the IC 86, you're as bad with them as I am with Duffs!!!! bescotbeast
Well 86434 has emerged from the Paint shop , i'm pretty pleased with the initial result and once I've touced in the fine details and replaced the windows and roof details it should look great running round the layout. 86434 by Simon Barnes, on Flickr AL6 line up by Simon Barnes, on Flickr

sub39h
Thanks Jinty, just need to source a nameplate and some Intercity Light executive Grey spray paint (might have a look in Halfords to see if I can find a close match)Supposedly Peugeot Antelope Beige is the closest, but I don't think it's that close. Edit: realise I'm late to the party! Really like your Class 86 resprays. Look the business! I have 86214. I'd love 86401 in NSE and an RfD one. Problem is finding Heljan Class 86 donors!
