I look forward to seeing one in Sheffield that's also got the driver's name on the destination box. You obviously 'know the right person ' to be able to do that.

Keep posting, I enjoy reading your blog.

A pleasure to meet you last night @big jim, you are welcome any time.

The hairier one, little (Big) Jim, my constant companion also enjoyed meeting you (and the Mini Cheddars)

I normally introduce him as my Patterdale Terrorist, very like a Patterdale Terrier, but you can't negotiate with this one.

He was actually quite amenable last night. Must be getting mellow in his old age.

Regards

Ian

It would be even scarier if you could access the IP address and control the PIS from home.

That's a private address range, so probably only accessible from on-board the train. Wonder if there's an ethernet port tucked away somewhere in the passenger area (you'd hope not - they ought to be at least behind a locked cover...)

While in Canada I was shown this display at a station on the TTC Subway.  It was rather expensive apparently.

The artist’s intention was that the public would write nice messages that would be displayed BIG on the station using this keyboard.

It’s out of use.

Because what people actually wrote was . . .

You might have thought that someone could have seen that coming.

Paul.
