I was wondering if Bachmann were sponsoring these liveries. 😁 Even the “House” orange ones are different, 001 has the flags, and GBRailfreight wording below the blue cab stripes like 003.. But 001s stripes are higher on the cab side than 003… yet 006 has the GBRailfreight wording above the blue stripe. 69006 is the only Crewe one on the list.. I bet thats the one that doesnt get tooled ! Edited November 29, 2022 by adb968008

RMweb Gold Popular Post big jim Posted November 30, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted November 30, 2022 Tonight job was crewe to derby with 37418, a winner for me, first time I’ve driven it met it at crewe pad instead of basford hall as it was running a bit late shunted it onto an MPV And dragged it round to basford hall for stabling, had a bit of a queue though! eventually the other locos were moved to their trains and I managed to get mine put away The big pink one shunting too I then set off for derby, as I was late I got stopped at darlaston jn as there was a train sat on one side of the triangle toward walsall so I couldn’t get round and there was a passenger train behind me so I offered to run onto the goods at bescot, change ends and head down the opposite side of the triangle which I did bescot Doing that cleared the mainline and put me in front of the other train too so I made some time up getting into derby And into the RTC, shut down and stabled nice to have a 37 again after a bit of a break, forgot how much fun they are, 418 is certainly lively!

BR traction instructor
I recall bringing the empty Washwood Hth to Peak Forest orange RMC hoppers back from Derby via Stoke and Cheadle Hulme around 1990 with 2 x 37/5 after an HST hit a cow and closed the line at Wingfield. Derby Control produced a shunter behind the station very quickly to run me round for a southbound departure. Around the same time 37901 ex works in Railfreight in red stripe after the rebuild/conversion working the Tunstead to Margam lime CBAs attracted a bit of attention from the spotters at Derby. Regular 37/4 diagrams at Buxton in those days were the Peak Forest to Leeds stone opens & Earles to Dewsbury cement with around 20 PCAs…seem to recall 411,414 & 425 as regular power for them. A 37/4 was regular on the Peak Forest banker turn too. BeRTIe Edited December 1, 2022 by BR traction instructor

RMweb Gold Popular Post big jim Posted December 4, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted December 4, 2022 Today was light loco toton to Doncaster, turns out it was 4 locos schenker 66 One of our locos came in on a possession train, shame the rear loco wasn’t up front as it was the pink freightliner ONE and I need that for driving as I have a model of it! Never noticed until I coupled it up to the other loco the difference in height between the couplings on an ex schenker 66 with buckeye and standard 66 the DB bought over our final loco with 66719, all 5 locos together Before uncoupling and moving out of the way to leave my 4 locos A quick brake test and away masborough and into decoy where the front 2 locos joined another and headed off to Peterborough Mountsorrel tomorrow
RMweb Premium corneliuslundie Posted December 5, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 5, 2022 We would never accept that difference in coupling height on our club model railway! Jonathan

Apparently the ex Europe 66s have the hook at a different height too. Whether it's the same as the DB ones I don't know. Jo

Hmmm - intriguing. Looking at other rolling stock (wagons as well as locos - 08/37/47/50/59/60/68/70 for instance) , the hook looks level with the buffers, so it would suggest that the "standard" 66 is low...... (The hook on a Bachmann FL 66 is level with the buffers not near a Hattons one to check) Edited December 5, 2022 by newbryford
