As a matter of interest where is the connection onto the National network. Bootle Jn 3Q85 2302 Crewe C.S. (L&Nwr Site) to Derby R.T.C. Marsh Lane? RMweb Gold big jim Posted July 11, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 11, 2020 Yes the connection is bootle jn where you join the line from edge hill to seaforth, you normally go to marsh lane to cross over get back off if your coming from Sandhills but the points were out last night hence the trip to hall road i need a conductor from bootle jn on that job as I know the rest but he gets on at crewe as the train also needs a brake test prior to departure and it saves having a shunter come out just to do that 1

RMweb Gold Popular Post big jim Posted July 19, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted July 19, 2020 had a good night, nice short job for once, got back to the car that I strategically left there on Thursday to get home in, put my foot on the clutch and straight to the floor, annoying as I’ve had a new slave cylinder on it 3 weeks ago had to sit and wait for green flag to come and rescue me and get me home, defiantly locking myself in the layout room tomorrow and going to try and get trains running before I go mad! 7
RMweb Gold big jim Posted July 19, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 19, 2020 All sorted, the pipe to the slave cylinder had popped out, back in now, bled the fluid and up and running again 15

s182ggu
Hi Jim Thanks for all these great pics. A query please - how do the empty wagon trains from the North get back into Mountsorrel? Mountsorrel seems to be accessible only from the Down Fast and the last set of crossovers from the Up lines to the Down Fast before Mountsorrel seem to be just north of Loughborough station. Is the Down Fast bi-directional all the way from Loughborough to Mountsorrel or do all the empties get routed round via Leicester / Syston Jnc? RMweb Gold big jim Posted July 23, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 23, 2020 They run from Doncaster to humberstone road in Leicester where it runs round and heads back north when departing south the down fast is bi-directional for a short distance Towards sileby where they cross over to the fast or slow 1
