RMweb Gold Popular Post big jim Posted March 5, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 5, 2020 There was a staff competition last year so expect a new one at some point, my kids had the entry forms but they sat gathering dust and it went past the entry date, I was trying to get across to them that it would be quite an honour if they won but they weren’t interested! anyway some from Tuesday night, a rare occupancy of freight in Marylebone, certainly only the 2nd or 3rd I’ve ever taken in there banbury, same locos as the night before Marylebone Clearer pic once the unit left platform 1 After the drop in the morning it was back to Leamington, should have been banbury but there was some confusion over cars so we took a bit further, stopped at Risborough to allow a unit in front of us nice NSE 08 on the chinnor line and that was that, Iport tomorrow
RMweb Gold Popular Post big jim Posted March 7, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 7, 2020 Iport yesterday rotherham masborough Certainly come on since the last time I was there, the building in the background wasn’t even started! Shunted wagons out to Roberts road And eventually back to Iport to the rest of the train same again on Saturday but only one way I’ve found out today that there is going to be a new stricter social media policy introduced at work soon which WILL effect this thread, I’m hoping it doesn’t mean I’ll have to stop posting pics as I know lots of people enjoy seeing what life is like on the modern railway on a day to day basis and I enjoy telling the story through pictures, I may well have to scale back some of the pics I post but if I can’t post any more for whatever reason then so be it, I’ll have to respect the policy so here’s hoping I can still post within the new guidelines, after all we are now at 6000+ replies Since the thread started all those years back at colas and it would be a shame to have to stop 8

Reading elsewhere it seems 86401 and possibly 86259 can also be ruled out. This suggests the "wolf in sheeps clothing" will be the one to attack the Lickey from a dead stand. Would love to be a fly on the cab bulkhead of that loco, particularly if it was a day of light showers

RMweb Gold Popular Post big jim Posted March 21, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 21, 2020 Only took a couple of pics last night, due to the risk from corona virus me and the conductor driver weren’t allowed to be in the same cab so we ended up with someone who like me signed part of the route but not the other and vice versa so we just drove our respective bits and sat in the DBSO when not required, we did however make sure we were opposite ends during the turn back moves in Sandhills to save walking down the track next to the 3Rd rail which neither of us like doing! we had 37612 which I’ve not had for a while Sandhills ormskirk it also went to Kirkby and newton le Willows and back to crewe where I got off, ballast tonight on the line to Stratford upon Avon 23

RMweb Premium jamie92208 Posted March 21, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 21, 2020 Those DBSO's have paid for themselves. IIRC they started out on Edinburgh to Glasgows with 47/7's then went to do Liverpool Norwich. They've certainly been a good investment.
