7APT7
Hi Jim, They are great photo's Big Jim, so in all this high winds and floods we are having at present is there ever a limit to what you let a train go through or are the lines generally fairly free from flooding...? I take it most of your work is through the early hours of the night...! You go on some great jobs, all your photos are always excellent to look at, I don't envy you much lol... if only I could hey haha I notice you drive several Liveries Colas Rail before and GBRf this time so are you allowed to take what ever locomotive you are given on that shift you are working, or are you like freelance and qualified to drive all types. I though if you worked for GBRf then you only drive GBRf locomotives... but that can't be the case, unless Companies own other companies locomotive in your industry...? I'm down visiting family in Wolverhampton in March so few visits to Bescot are in hand... Regards Jamie Edited February 17, 2020 by 7APT7
RMweb Gold Popular Post big jim Posted February 17, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted February 17, 2020 There are rules regarding the depth of flood water you can pass through in relation to the rail top locos are allocated to jobs by control and I can drive whatever I am passed out on, I work for GBRf but for the network rail trains we are subcontracted to work we have to use colas class 37s And DBSO’s, I used to drive them at colas so can drive them for GB, similarly class 56 and 47, I’ve even driven 70s for colas while working for GBRf, I’m lucky that as I shunt bescot I can get on various traction to keep them in date such as the 70 or 67 anyway, one from today, got asked to work a train into Kineton, met it at didcot and worked it into the site and back out to Leamington, should have been to crewe but the other driver never got the message I was working it through and travelled from his home in Winsford (10 miles from crewe) all the way to Leamington to relieve me! 66701 in didcot 18

RMweb Gold Popular Post big jim Posted February 28, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted February 28, 2020 (edited) And some from last night/this morning Ferme park, 91 for company this time Hull trains paragon unit Out to grays via Upminster Then a trundle to watford, it’s a fair old trip when you consider it goes from below south east london to above north west london Then it was back to Stratford and onto Ferme park, this morning I had to go and pick up a car I’d bought in Newbury so after a few hours sleep in the train I went over to paddington And out to newbury got the car, left it en route to home to collect later and headed back to london for an afternoon sleep before work tonight, recording the chiltern line and Bicester to oxford Edited February 28, 2020 by big jim

RMweb Gold big jim Posted March 3, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 3, 2020 (edited) Just a couple from last night, bescot to Neasden ballast drop 66720, 5 hoppers and 66731 (all available from Bachmann!) bescot South Ruislip, waiting for the possession to be put around us, we then headed off toward Wembley dropping stone where required before changing ends, waiting for the possession to be lifted and heading back to banbury to lodge back in tonight, probably with the same locos dropping stone on the opposite line so it involves a trip into Marylebone station to change ends Edited March 3, 2020 by big jim

Seen mentioned there was another design a livery comp running. Be interesting to see if it replaces 66720s or if there will be two out running in these liverys
