This is a photo of what I was trying to roughly replicate Hopefully got it looking roughly right. Once I get chance I'll put some more pics of further progress on the feed As a final thing here is a picture of the latest loco dan has weathered for me. We were going for the loco having just finished the rhtt season and seriously in need of wash.

Cheers Graham. hi. its painted using phoenix precision P855 North Staffs Madder Lake (Dull) it was the closest colour i could find to replicate the kennaway tunnel brick brown
RMweb Premium GWRPhil Posted September 24, 2013 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 24, 2013 (edited) That's one filthy shed! it is dan found a pciture very similar to it in a rail magazine and one evening whilst discussing it he said he'd love to have a go. so i asked him if he would like him to have a go at it for me. i remeber seeing a drs shed on rhtt duties a few years back that was so dirty you couldnt even tell what livery it was from 5 feet away. when dan showed me the picture which he has done a brilliant job of replicating i liked it as it was thoroughly filthy but you could just about work out whose loco it was. RMweb Premium GWRPhil Posted September 27, 2013 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 27, 2013 i have decided to split this feed into two. one to feature the layout, it modifications and pictures of trains running (once i get to that stage again) and another to feature the weathering that has been done on my locos by my great freind dan and also the painting and weathering ive done on my rolling stock. here is a link direct to the first page of that feed so that you can look at it and if you feel you want to to follow it. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/76571-porthcressa-on-sea-stock-weathering/?p=1172632 all posts on this feed that have contained info relevant to the stock and loco feed will stay on here and as and when i get chance i will put them on the new feed also. i will be putting highlights of any posts i put on there on this feed occasionally to so there will still be bplenty to see on here

RMweb Premium GWRPhil Posted September 30, 2013 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 30, 2013 Realy coming along now Phil..... yeah its getting there slowly. next challenge is to rewire the layout so the feeds are all hooked up again and the main power circuit underneath is orientated most efficiently for the new layout design. then its onto fiddle yard construction which will be in two bits. one semi permanently attached to the layout at the tunnel entrance and the second section which will be designed to be removable and storable

RMweb Premium GWRPhil Posted October 2, 2013 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted October 2, 2013 Nice work bud thanks its coming along ok. just in small sections when i get five minutes. i've gotta put aside at least a whole day to start to get ahead on some of the jobs. most notably the power system which needs a rebuild now the layout is largely in its new form. gotta make some progress on the fiddle yard to. maybe i'll put aside this sunday or monday coming and have a whole day on it
RMweb Premium GWRPhil Posted October 8, 2013 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted October 8, 2013 Here's a couple of pics of the last bit of ballasting around the tunnel entrance and the gwr fencing that i have installed trackside
RMweb Premium GWRPhil Posted October 14, 2013 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted October 14, 2013 (edited) Spent yesterday or at least the part of it that I could dedicate to the railway weathering my cross country voyager based on a picture of one I took at plymouth earlier in the year. Unfortunately realised part the way through I'd run out of flat black to do the roof so only partially done. It's amazing to see the difference. The body sides are spotless (almost) on the prototype but the roof and underframes filthy. Anyway here are some pictures if what I've done so far. RMweb Premium GWRPhil Posted October 14, 2013 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted October 14, 2013 Yesterday evening had a call from my good friend mick to say he'd finished scratch building me the latest addition to Porthcressa. As the layout is run in the current era (mostly) I've decided to give the layout some of the touches that are necessary to make it appear to be in the modern world. To that end I asked mick to build me a mobile phone mast and base station. Here's some pics of what he's done I'll be getting it this coming weekend so as soon as it's in situ on Porthcressa I'll take some more pictures and post them. If I get chance this week will also post some pictures of the yard. I have feature some pictures in the past but have now weathered the yard to give it hopefully a more realistic look. Pics to follow.
