A Nod To Brent - a friendly thread, filled with frivolity, cream teas and pasties. Longing for the happy days in the South Hams 1947.

Well, that sums up Hornby's approach and sadly, I have to say good riddance.

With such a high handed attitude, quite frankly they deserve to fail.

One has to ask, what is the point of Hornby attending shows if they are to treat their customers thus.....?

Ridiculous.

Rob.

Perhaps Mr K should read up on the rise and fall of Edward Turner and the British motorcycle manufacturing industry in general.

There's some disturbing parallels to be drawn and lessons that clearly haven't been learnt perhaps.

I certainly wouldn't want to see Hornby or any of the other manufacturers fall, but I do wonder where they did their market research, or was it a rehash of the reasons why they went from 0 to 00 in the fifties, partly because houses were getting smaller and rivals were churning out smaller trains.

There are comparisons to be made, Rob.

Blinkers on respect of the competitors models, unflinching faith in the companies products, knowledge of what the 'kids' want ( TT120=Aerial 3 ? )

Mmmm

Here's a nice photo I took on a local walk around Brent the other day, of a slightly dilapidated barn structure, on the London-side of the village, just to the south of Palstone Bridge on the main line:

See that Barn CK? That's your dream home that is.

Nice Trees and some decent Bush.

Is that art darling.

Probably some weird performance based art, for which the grant was signed off because the approvals board didn't want to be accused of being "uneducated" and "ignorant".

Rather like The King's new clothes...

Or the Grand Inquisitors new robes - sadly they were too small, as he was ranting about TT-120, the tailor misheard him...

Never, not a chance, they are art darlings.

I have that model and the original full skirted type. They were the only diseasels I have. I'm not counting the shame on the house of Wolf that is a class 142 Pacer...

Perhaps with an artistic flair.....

Cheers,
