RMweb Gold Popular Post gwrrob Posted July 21, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted July 21, 2018 6023 was running last weekend and we had a trip behind her to Kingswear. She is limited to selective days during the summer and I didn't see her again throughout the week as they used the Manor and LT pannier instead. We had her facing the right way with a Torbay Express headboard.

Castle
Hi Rob, It looks like a blue Didcot King never offends too! Glad you had fun with Spud II - it’s nice to see her both out and about and being enjoyed by a wider audience. All the best, Castle
Nick Gough
This brought us back and they say a pannier never offends. DSCN3890.JPG DSCN3891.JPG Reminds me of my youth, living alongside the Piccadilly line, though the panniers were never that shiny, and usually steamed past in the dark!
RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted July 21, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 21, 2018 (edited) I also squeezed a quick visit in to the SDR which resembles Barry Scrapyard at the moment with locos everywhere out of service. KNP
Nice fire iron rack. DSCN3933 (2).JPG Sometimes it's these pictures that can provide more inspiration as to how an area operated and the type of clutter lying around which in turn answers many questions when you come to model them. I did notice the rack and the amount of rust visible on the fire irons, also the oil drums for colour ideas and especially the ground finish..... In fact, I was studying all the workshop pictures for ideas and missing the main reason for the picture? Anymore? RMweb Gold Popular Post gwrrob Posted July 21, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted July 21, 2018 Looking back a few pages and 4582 on that cattle wagon train last week turned out to be one of the most popular shots of the year so far , so here it is again with a sepia tang to it.
RMweb Premium St Enodoc Posted July 21, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 21, 2018 DSCN3920.JPG DSCN3921.JPG How ridiculous. First of all someone has built the signal box to 3 mm scale and then plonked the footbridge right over the top of it. You'd never see that in real life. RMweb Gold Worsdell forever Posted July 22, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 22, 2018 How ridiculous. First of all someone has built the signal box to 3 mm scale and then plonked the footbridge right over the top of it. You'd never see that in real life. They did that at North Ormesby just outside Middlesbrough, but it was to 4mm scale and they modified the kit. https://usercontent2.hubstatic.com/9148237_f520.jpg Then they took the footbridge away and built a big cardboard road bridge behind it. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4203/33914919724_ae0893e503.jpg

RMweb Gold 81C Posted July 22, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 22, 2018 Just realized LT94 aka GWR 7752, it was a locomotive I drove at Tyseley many years ago nice to see it being used for what it was made for.
RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted July 22, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 22, 2018 An overcast day in the South Hams sees some fresh shots of small prairie 4582 on a short cattle van train. These vans were weathered by Glenn but I've added some of my own frame dirt [719] using Lifecolor acrylic.
