A Nod To Brent - a friendly thread, filled with frivolity, cream teas and pasties. Longing for the happy days in the South Hams 1947.

For a good bit of head banging.

I see there's been a lot of negativity in the press and elsewhere about Metallica appearing. I think it is good to see a good eclectic mix of artists,a bit like my wide ranging CD collection. Their Black album is one of my favourites. I hope folk give them an open mind when listening - they should be great.

Led Zeps Stairway to Brent.......?

Or perhaps more relevant.......

Stair lift to Brent....?

What about Deep Purples Smoke on the Gara ?

We could always raid the AC/DC back catalogue for such classics as......

Highway to Brent, Back in Brent and the infamous classic....Whole lotta Finching...

On my way to the cloakroom, as we speak...

Are we sure about the steps?

Makes repelling boarders so much more difficult.

Think of the unsavoury characters around those parts, such as Algernon Cuthbertson and his cohorts!

Will the Sisters sleep easy in their beds?

Now where did I put my hat? .........

Metallica's natural "home" in this country is probably Donnington, but Eavis has been "brave" this year with his headline acts by inviting them and the Les-tah lager louts.

Certainly the mosh pit will be livelier than last year when that firm of Dickensian undertakers (Mumford and Sons) provided the perfect cure for insomnia.......zzzzzzzzzzz

Hi Rob,

I don't know what the keyboard thingy is but one of the keyboard players had one when I saw the Eagles in May.

SS

There was another of those keyboard thingy's being played by one of the bands on the telly before Metalica last night from the Somerset mud dance.

I think they were great last night, although I'm not sure what my neighbours thought as I had connected the telly to the 5.1 surround sound system. i did notice a bloke near the front of the audience looking a bit bewildered though when the camera panned round early on in the set. On the whole i think the vast majority enjoyed it.

A beautiful summers morning in South Hams sees a filthy mogul pass the beleaguered beach with a train of perishables destined for Plymouth. The driver is blissfully unaware of the carnage down below.

Blackpool Tower upside down on the beach in Devon would indeed be carnage.

EDIT Trevor Hemmings, who owns it, Preston North End football club and Centre Parcs, among other things, might just have a view.

I can see the 'sisters' clamouring for the kiss me quick hats...

It's a leisurely pace down here, so perhaps kiss me slowly hats would be better.

RTR in abundance here, all with added detail from Bachmann,Dapol and Airfix.

I think an enquiry is in order here Robin (sorry) ......

Has the up fruit train been stabled on the line over night? I see the line side spotters have been patiently waiting for it to move :-)

That was me after Hetfield's "peace, love and a better world" speech shortly before the band took (to) "Cyanide" - wierd. I did manage to hear Rob's current beach favourite "Enter Sandman" though.

The filthy mogul comes through Brent and the camera also catches the purple flowers of the Buddleia in the station gardens by the ladies toilets.
