A Nod To Brent - a friendly thread, filled with frivolity, cream teas and pasties. Longing for the happy days in the South Hams 1947.

Sorry chaps, I missed a quote in my post. I've got a long way to go until I catch up with Mr Spams.

Although I'd probably be a lot closer if I'd actually posted some of the things I've written and subsequently changed my mind about.

Perhaps if you made a start on the 1366 you might start earning your way off the naughty step?

I'm currently finishing off a GWR signal box - surely that's enough?

PS the layout now has working motive power, and it's not WR (or SR come to that)!

Perhaps I could offer some kind of olive (!) branch by getting my van c's out tomorrow.

I couldn't possibly comment on what you choose to 'get out' in the privacy of your own garage!

(I do like a good Van B though)

Only if you repeat after me.Churchward was an engineering God and is totally above criticism on any of his works. ;)

Here is 5239 in action without it's new recruit.

'Goliath seen passing the well preserved period portaloos, known locally as tinder boxes. It was not uncommon for a spark from passing locos to set fire to the roof of the privy. This let to more than one undignified departure from the 'hot seat', much to the amusement of members of the public on the promenade.

I bet you lot didn't know that Churchward and Bulleid were half brothers........

P

As boys they always got into fights. It seems Churchward has misunderstood his father's instructions that sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.

A glorious sunny day in South Devon and there's nothing like keeping the punters happy. So here we see 9319 on a short parcels consisting of some SR vans for young Spams as way of an olive branch.Nice vehicles and I admit to having the Bachmann PLV on pre order too.Wouldn't it be nice to have something similar quality wise with a Western touch too rtr.

I can't remember offhand what numbers the 93xx class were in the West Country but I won't be changing them until we get the new Bachmann model. ;)

A 93xx and some lovely brown shirtbutton stock. Just when I had decided to stick with the Edwardian era, you bring up these temptations again. Must resist!

Yes and here she is being used as the station pilot at Farthing.Driver J Drover is not pleased by this.Excellent modelling Mikkel.
