Norwenglish
Olive over malachite anyday, shame that the spam cans came too late for olive as they could have looked very nice! And to answer your question Rob, for me the appeal of the thread is the modelling first and the comedy following very closely behind (almost as if it's being chased by a rhino!). Also I'm not a true Scandinavian, actually originate from the heart of the Southern Region, with the Bluebell Railway still being considered my 'local'. RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted May 25, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 25, 2014 That's a pity then, I'll miss you by a week or so if it's the trip I think you mentioned many pages ago. Shewn before but here's what I could have won. Could be Goliath though instead and a nice shade of green too.
Trains&armour
Greetings from Norway! After spending the last 3 or 4 days reading my way through this thread I have to say that this is a fantastic thread to read both for the modelling and comedy. Keep up the fantastic work Rob, this is definitely a project that I'll be following closely! Also have to admit that reading through this has added to my inspiration to get going and build my own layout, although it will have engines in a more Olive shade of green Stuart Welcome! And if you need any (olivegreen) Rhino's on your layout please let me know...
RMweb Gold Popular Post gwrrob Posted May 26, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted May 26, 2014 (edited) A few photos taken this morning of 5525 at the right hand end of the fiddle yard.I've tarted up the scenics here mainly recoating the earth with powder from Treemendus.A new meadow sheet was cut and fitted and static grass puffed on with my Noch bottle.I will add some grass tufts when I get some more. Norwenglish
Seeing these pictures makes it rather tempting to come over to the dark GWR side! Beautiful and very well set up pictures as always! Stuart
RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted May 26, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 26, 2014 Beautiful and very well set up pictures as always! Stuart Thanks very much. This part of the layout is the most trickiest to take decent photos as they have to be 'helicopter' shots in the main and I don't own a large tripod.
RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted May 27, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 27, 2014 Those prairie photos seem to have been popular so here's the same viewpoint with my trusty mogul.I know there's a few on here who like this class and we see 93xx class 9319 on a parcels formed of the Dapol fruit ds and a siphon.I've used the Bachmann pipe type coupling between the two vans.

RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted May 27, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 27, 2014 (edited) A few more of 9319. Bloater? Similar sized vehicles but slightly different Chris. Nice aren't they and probably like the van c on your railway. This last photo shews off my gorse nicely and the idea was 'borrowed' from Treneglos as it happens after I saw it at an exhibition many moons ago. RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted May 27, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 27, 2014 Nice to meet up with Stationmaster Mike and his daughter as well as Bob[ 81C] of this parish.Didn't spend much as I will need my cash for this weeks trip to South Devon.More of which later in the week. All in all a good show and the A41/M40 was fine David. I got to Aylesbury later than planned (1pm), so it looks like I missed seeing you there, Robin (I also didn't see Mike/Stationmaster there either). So are you coming this way shortly? cary hill
Sounded the whistle leaving Goodrington too ! Pah - I was hoping for an heroic tale involving you endlessly shovelling coal as you fought your way up the gradient to Churston.

RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted May 30, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 30, 2014 Where were you hiding then Cap'n, I reckon I was out in the car park stowing my 'shopping'at about that time (or standing just outside the door eating ice cream) Arrived by road motor direct to the front door, met with Taz and Brinkly inside, then had immediate route march to very far, distant, long-way-away car park to deposit my overnight bag in boot of Taz's car, before equally long route march back to the hall. I reckon your ice cream had either been consumed or melted by then...!
