Such a familiar sight in and around Rugby station during my youth and this photo brings it all flooding back. On Sunday mornings the south end bays and the pilot sidings would be chocked full of 25s awaiting the Monday morning trip jobs. Superb picture that!

Sadly 'Matford' is no more but it may 're-incarnate'as 'Matford New' some day!

Popular Post Barclay
Early on a chilly morning in the autumn of 1947 the crews of Saltport Harbour Authority Bagnall and Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn 0-4-0ST's prepare them for duty. This picture has had the colour turned down and the contrast turned up - I like experimenting with things like this and I find it can often improve the believability of a photo. Perhaps it's a reaction to what I feel is the over-strong and bright colour in some of the mags these days, which never feels right to me, especially for a steam-era setting. This picture was taken ages ago with a compact camera, though for some reason my PC says it was taken on 26th October 1955 - 8 years out ! 29 2

Popular Post KNP
Two T3 signal wagons fresh out the signwriters workshop at the wagon works rolled out into the afternoons sun to dry. These are 3d printed kits from Chuffinghell (Warren Branch) and along with his CC2 and CC7 tool vans represented my first venture into this way of producing models. I was very impressed, well designed CAD work by Chris with crisp and finely printed details, I will be building more of these as and when I find more to do! Apart from the transfers (Railtec produce them but for a slightly different version of these wagons) every thing else is provided. No connections just a satisfied customer 36
