Popular Post Owd Bob
I have posted these efforts elsewhere on here but thought a bit of garden railway-ing would make a nice change.
Popular Post Killybegs
Pannier tank 3643 has arrived with three wagons of coal for the coal stage. Having dropped off them and the brake van, it will collect the empties and put them on the brake van before propelling the loaded wagons up the ramp. The crew will probably stop for a natter with the shed staff before heading back to the goods yard with the empties. In the background, a 9F trundles along the embankment with a train of empties for South Wales.
RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted January 19, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 19, 2018 That 9F needs to be getting a wiggle on, not trundling; empties were perpetually in short supply and high demand at the collieries, which did their best to scupper the process by blocking themselves in with loaded wagons that were being used for ad hoc stockpiling at the railways' expense. Totally believable with the Malverns backdrop!
Popular Post Red Devil
I may well have posted this before, if so my apologies but this weekend sees my Grime Street layout out for the possibly the last time, certainly with me as it'll be departing 240 miles south to its new home on Sunday. So before I get overly nostalgic! Leeds Pivotal car lays over at Grime St Terminus, Hunslet, Leeds, early 50s pic originally by Andy York, messed about with by me.
