Popular Post Mrkirtley800
This shot has appeared before, a long time ago, in another thread on RMWeb in glorious colour, so here it is again a bit more subdued. I am a poor photographer and this pic is one of my better ones. The loco is a scratch built model of a Midland slim boilered 4-4-0 2183 class, the carriages are modified Ratio, all painted by Coachman Larry (who else?) The lines to the right are '00', the ones to the left with the train are 'EM'. The train is pulling out of Embsay Canal Road station on it's way to Skipton, where it will form the 11.30am to Bradford Market Street. The milk van at the rear is destined for Bell's Dairy in Leeds. My apologies for lack of lamps on the loco, it is carrying them now Derek

Popular Post Mrkirtley800
Hi Derek Brilliant picture! Like the idea of the mixed gauges - you really can't tell the difference. More pics of this lovely layout and trains please. Mike Thanks Mike, Here are a few more pics. The layout is in the process of being dismantled. If you look in the Settle and Carlisle - Lunester Lounge thread page 207 onwards, you will see the reason why. However all will not be lost and some of Canal Road will surface at some point in the future. The action, by the way, is taking place in June 1908 Derek

HARRYMALLARD
I love the Jinty photo, Harry, got a really good 'sunshine and shade' feel to it, in a large urban station perhaps? It was taken in late afternoon, with the sun shining through the window and the jinty was there from the last running session already! I do see the urban point and even though its a modest country station, it could be easily part of an urban complex.
Jaz
Two of the children are normal Hornbg figures, the one in the middle is a recolour, the two dogs are made from copper and modelling medium, so scratch built. The vehicles are all unweathered purchases........ A sunny day on Arboretum Valley down by the seaside. For anyone wishing to see how the dogs were made, pictures run over two pages. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/72163-arboretum-valley-order-from-chaos/page-181&do=findComment&comment=1404282 Edited May 20, 2014 by Jaz

GRUNFOS
Why not weather the green one as though she is going in for re-paint from green to blue? Sean Have been working from a photo, the Wigan allocated green ones were in pretty good condition. The bodytop line seems to wear out though. Bit more finishing to do and must find windsreens as they both broke whilst removing them.

Popular Post PGC
My first entry on this thread. From the days when I was a member of the Barking MRC and worked on their layout Clatterford. My N2 (Stephen Poole - Yes, it's that old!) body on chassis made from Comet sides, fully compensated with Escap motor driving Sharman 40:1 gearbox through flexible joint. Runs beautifully (even though I say it myself!) but needs to be finished with details, weathering etc. One day......... Phil
RMweb Premium Popular Post PaternosterRow Posted May 21, 2014 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted May 21, 2014 The Standards at the Roundhouse. The 9F (Evening Star), on the left in the first picture, is the latest model from the Great British Locomotive Magazine and stands up quite well to the superb Bachmann 9F on the right. The handrails are moulded on this cheap model, but in the first picture they look like seperate wires. Great little layout filler for a cheap model. Apart from that one all the rest are superb Bachmann models. I can't believe the level of detail sometimes and they are relatively cheap compared to models of European engines. In this last shot - the mirror and layout are seamless and the trick appears to work quite well.
