sjgardiner
Though if it braked hard the coal would surely kill the crew in a landslide............ Â Best, Pete. Only if it could get through the solid steel wall on the back of the cab! The CN Northern's were mechanical stoker fired with fully enclosed cabs. In service, if you knew the bunker was full, you wouldn't have opened the main access hatches between the cab and the tender! Piling coal high like that was common in service as can be seen in the shot of a U-2-d from 1949, when you select view all sizes and view larger, coal piled higher than the cab can be seen. http://www.flickr.com/photos/51896204@N08/7467273126/ Â As for the TLT model, i love mine as it's a model of our U-2-g at the Toronto Railway Museum, though it hasn't ever really gotten a chance to run properly and mostly lives as a display piece in the living room of our apartment: http://www.flickr.com/photos/55976115@N00/5653515094/in/set-72157625008990515 Â Someday i'll have a layout with a run designed to let her stretch her legs out.
