The coat of mortar paint is now complete and i need to let it dry over night until the other colours are added.

I am using humbrol oil paints and i used a tan colour to represent the mortar and i will end up adding another three or four darker shades

of brown grey and black using the dry brush method to get the needed end result.

I have now started to add the roof, the base is glued down and all i need to do is add the slates which will be made from strips of paper and glued in place

and painted.

The drain pipe has also been added and the final coat of paint has also been added and the final colour was the railmatch sleeper grime which gave the

bricks a nice darker shade of brown.

This model is by no way perfect as it is my first attempt at building a house but the measurements are spot on but the window lintels are over sized as that

was the only micro strips i had to hand. The steps to the doors still need to be added as i did add a 5mm recess to the bottom of the building.

I need to make several more of these houses to go on the layout and the next ones will be of a far better quality as i have learnt from all the mistakes from

building this house.

I think from this point on i will be scratch building all the buildings for the layout.

The new station building looks great, I actualy think its better then the one you had before!

I'm well impressed with the weathering job you have done on the locos, the Inter City looks great.

Hi all

Sorry its been a while since my last post but the weather has just been too nice to be stuck in the loft so i have spent most of the sunny weather

with the family.

However i have managed to get up in the loft this week and make a start on the new bridge and station building as i decided to demolish the old style.

Below are some photos of the work done so far and this is still a work in progress. The whole lot was built using 30thou plastikard for the structures and

50 thou to form the paths that run along the bridge and then went about scribing the paving stones out with an olfa scriber.

The station building is almost complete apart from some weathering and some outer detailing that still needs to be added I.E. cctv cameras, signs, posters etc.

The interior is complete along with added ticket booths and escalators and people. The bridge has just been painted and also needs to be weathered along

with paths.Details still need to be added like the street lamps and graffiti etc.I still need to add some different shades of greys to the road surface before

i attempt to add the yellow and white lines.

On a lighter note here are a couple of pictures of the new additions to glebe road junction.

First up is a Bachmann class 37 railfrieght redstripe which has been weathered by me.

And the second is a Bachmann class 47 railfrieght distribution.I have only just got this model and have yet to fit it with a decoder and weather it.

You Tube

A quick summer update 15 minutes? What's a long one then? :sungum: Looking good. Loving the new ideas.

Love the update, pictures of the pavement and new over head signage looks promising.
