owentherail
Well in my mind the western region had a line from Princess Risborough to Reading via a 2nd Henley station and caversham, and via a tri-angle at southcote junction to Reading. West coast freights to the south and some cross country trains go this way, also trains from midland main line via Bedford go this way to southampton. well its my layout!! In NSE days a Northampton-southampton and visa versa ran, civil engineers and mail trains will run a few trains thru too. A fueling point, small freight depot and yard are near station. There is no 3rd rail but an EMU working to woking and weymouth (via Basingstoke) runs with a 33/1. owen.

jonny777
Great. I like the station idea with the multi-storey and pick-up/drop-off road. It is an excellent way of introducing an interesting variety of locos and cross country workings in a semi-fictional manner. I say that because although the route might be fictional, if the line had existed and had survived Beeching, then you have exactly the right kind of believable services which would have traversed the route. Yes, it is your railway and you can do as you please. I look forward to future developments.

rob D2
Nice work. I spent a fair bit of time at reading station in 1982 aged 10. Now people say the blue period was boring, but we had HSTs, class 47,50 expresses. 31,47 parcels. 37 stone trains. 33 from portsnouth harbour. Not to mention the quiet SR units and noisy DMUs...
