Norm81
Make that 5 per cab bud, 2 markers, 2 tails, and the headlight. The facility to function switch the tails off is very useful.....2 headlights too... so 6... I know why the rears aren't switchable from the manufacturer, it's down to them wanting the lights to work on DC where you cannot electronically switch anything. It's a pain for those of us on DCC though!

tractor_37260
As there's only 2 leds per board on the 56's so 4 per loco, it may be better to just turn the leds 180. As the 60's have 12 leds it's way more work to do that with them. Shall think about it. Agree - but probably easier to just replace the 2 LED's each end on the 56 the other way around, very tricky to remove/change round the existing ones without destroying them ! JCClark
Hi Lee Continue to follow your thread and very impressed with all your work. You have really got the cantline Orange stripes perfected now, what are you using these days? A lining pen, decals or pre spraying orange and masking with thin tape? I have tried the latter and not always perfect and can show a ridge when tape removed. Appreciate any advice you may be willing to pass on. Best regards John

I use Fox transfers...they seem to be the best option for me. Must be applied to a gloss surface, and don't try to put them on in one long piece! I use breaks such as rain strips etc to do the joins. Peter's spares and suchlike normally do them. Send me a pm if you just need the led's changing around
JCClark
Hi Lee Thanks for the info on the cantlines, obviously practice makes perfect! Reading your info re class 56 lighting with interest as I have a loco that is giving me lighting problems. Have tried to search for cab interior light module replacements but can only find for class 60. I did mail Hornby and they said not supplied as a spare! Regards John

Practise does indeed make perfect. Lots if it! What issues are you having with the 56 lights, is it a problem that has developed over time, or the result of a body/chassis swap. class27
Just a small plug on here for Lee I bought a Heljan O gauge class 26 as a first step into the world of O gauge. I decided I wanted the Loco in late 70's condition, which prompted me to speak to Lee after joining RM web and having a look around on here I picked up the Loco today and I am very pleased with Lee's modifications and paintwork,he has also rigged it for DCC and sound which is very effective indeed So it is a 10/10 for Lee and Lee's Locos both for the work and Lee himself for being helpful, knowlegble and pleasant Cheers

Marcyg
I like the 50. I should have done mine in that colour as there's more name options rather than the later version I went for
RMweb Gold mudmagnet Posted September 20, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 20, 2015 Stunning work as usual Lee! Just as well you photo graph on a plain background otherwise if photographed on a "photo plank", we would think that you are posting photos of real locos! blueeighties
Thanks all. I really should get around to building a scenic photo plank, but never enough time! Another job to add onto the to do list.
Grimleygrid
Very nice work Lee, whilst my favourites as you know would be the Brush Beasts, I do like the Hoover. Resolution was my second favourite 50, they did look great with snow ploughs.
