Some pictures of the finished Oast House. All the best Adrian. Very nice indeed! I really like that. 3 1

Hi Ian, thank you for putting the link up to the pub site, it is a great resource and one that I have spent many a happy hour revisiting pubs that I remember, it also gives a lot of background detail as well on the history of each one. All the best Adrian.
sb67
Very nice modelling there Adrian, hop picking sounds a fine way to spend a few weeks in September. My parents used to do that, who knows could have been near Westerham! Your modelling certainly gives the feel of the fine Kentish countryside. 2 1
RMweb Premium Sasquatch Posted April 7, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 7, 2023 Hi Adrian, seeing as we're reminiscing over Kentish Inns and the like, I couldn't help thinking of The White Heart in Newenden, probably the coziest pub we ever visited. Spent a couple of hours in there waiting for the AA one rainy Easter bank holiday Monday (over 30 years ago now). When I looked it up on Google Earth, there's an Oast house just like your model right behind it! Regards Shaun. P.S. Happy easter, don't over do it on the chocolate eggs etc. 1
SRman
I've only just caught up again. The oast houses and the layout in general look absolutely magnificent. Lovely work, Adrian. 2 2

RMweb Gold ChrisN Posted April 20, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 20, 2023 The bird is on the wing, but that's absurd, I say the wing is on the bird. Lovely pictures. 1
RMweb Gold Nevermakeit Posted April 21, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 21, 2023 Really evocative pictures - although the leaf-litter on the ballast makes me think of Autumn rather than Spring! :-) 2
RMweb Premium Sasquatch Posted April 21, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 21, 2023 Hi Adrian. You're making me rather home sick. Please take that as a compliment! Regards Shaun 1
Fishplate
Lovely pictures Adrian. I particularly like the 3rd and 6th ones. I can't remember your track plan to place that scene relative to Westerham and Brasted. Do you have one you could share ? What are you planning next ?

Hi Fishplate, sorry I don't have a trackplan but I will try to draw one up in the next week. Next on the list are a pub, cattle dock, barn, very low relief shed/barn, station building and the list goes on 🙂. All the best Adrian. 3

RMweb Gold Popular Post westerhamstation Posted May 5, 2023 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted May 5, 2023 The platform at Weald was made from a old wardrobe door which had a mahogany varnished surface, this needed changing into something that looked more platform like. Old tarmac for the platform surface with repair joins etc was my choice, and as I had some pieces of 240 grit wet and dry these have been used for the surface. Joining them together I have torn them so that the edge is ragged and thinner, this means that it is not raised from the next piece and the join is more like a repair to the tarmac. After the pieces had been glued down and left to dry I knocked the surface back by going over it all with a block of wood, this has the effect of dulling the surface of the wet and dry, some brown pastel chalk has been used in places to add a bit of colour. I think that the pictures show the sequence I have used but if not just ask. All the best Adrian. God Save The King. 16
RMweb Gold Graham T Posted May 5, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 5, 2023 That’s a neat technique, particularly for the joins. Looks very effective to me. 9 1
