Hello all and especially Andy!

I feel terrible excluding Andy from my Sunday photo-shoot so here is a midweek one to make up for it.....maya-couppa (don't know how to spell foreign) but you get the drift I'm sure.

Its just a session of gallery shots showing some DMU transition scenes...

I thought Bachmann made a SO,

http://www.Bachmann.co.uk/image_box.php?image=images1/branchline/39-051J.jpg&cat_no=39-051J&info=0&width=650&height=230

rather than a TSO.  I could easily be wrong though...it wouldn't be the first time...

It's certainly what I use for my Waverly and TCE.  The only odd coaches for post 55 or so are the sleepers, which could have been either Mk 1's or ex LMS 12w ones.  I have a pair of the LMS ones, part finished.  (another job I should get on with...)

James

Hi James,

(Pedantic mode on) They're marketed as SOs but in realty are TSOs i.e. they have 2+2 seating rather than 2+1. Both types have the same roof ventilator pattern.

Great photos!  I'm just wondering if the signals are going to be working models, because the Class 108 passed the signal at 'danger' going into Rise Hill tunnel - no offence intended.

I especially like the pair of Peaks hauling the tube wagons - a very interesting type of movement.

Cheers,

William

I never get bored of looking at some new photos mike!

Superb as always,it just makes me realise how awful the peco code 100 track looks on my own layout!

Hi Ben,

Cheers mate. I have to say that having modelled in 3 Rail Hornby Dublo followed by Triang Super 4, then Triang-Hornby System 6 all before I reached about 16. From then I jumped into Peco Streamline and hadn't a clue why one rail was longer than the other when I bent it. Hahaha I stuck with Peco only going from code 100 to 75 a few years ago on my Bermuda Road MPD layout and I was honestly happy enough with the result. HOWEVER going to exhibitions regularly and looking at the high quality close-up photo's now found in the model mag's made me jump ship and 'have a go' at handbuilt points with SNP 'J' track for the plain stuff. I had never done it, never had any instructions and more important never had any bottle to do it, but on Dent I was determined to at least try and I am really pleased I did, I think the results - so far - prove it was worth it. When I say so far I mean I still have the cosmetic fishplates to fit which will stand out on close-up shots.

Hi William,

The signals are certainly planned to be working and do operate by hand but not as yet electrically, not sure when I will get around to it but I will.

.

They are both Class 40's on the Tube wagons not Peaks' . Peaks' were Class 44,45 & 46 under TOPS.

No problem William, easy mistake. I don't know why my 'BTW' prefix went but I was rushing a bit, sorry if it looked a bit Lecture-ish!

Hi all,

Today's task is preparing some white metal detailing 'bits -n- pieces' tedious but necessary.

I have dug out an old 'Mikes Models' weighbridge kit which I must have had for 30 years and to be honest I am completely lost as to its construction. The typewriter written and 'duplicated' (remember those?) instructions have no drawings just terms which unless you know what they are, well they are use pretty useless! Anyway its going to be soldered together rightly or wrongly in the end.

I have continued with my sticking rods into legs of suitable figures which will be painted and planted hopefully later this week.

I have also ordered some colourful additions, they will also be fitted hopefully this week - guesses welcome!

Today's major job is the Coal Road Bridge road surface. I have decided to raise it as having stood on the real thing its easy to look over whereas mine is as yet - not!

In discussions over the remaining windows with AMBIS ENGINEERING for etched brass items in the hope of reducing the cost of the laser-cut options.

So all in all plenty to do but again not a lot to see but I will take a few pic's at some point over the weekend....

Edit: typo

Mike,

Are you going to have two boys on the bridge dropping stones down the engine's funnels?  Or will it be yourself taking numbers?

No, it'll be a certain Mr. P waiting to take a picture of a blue sausage van diesel.

What no pic's of YOU jumping on the scales to prove they work, ahahahha

Looking really nice mate and a Black 5 and 4F in one pic is pure magic.

A 3F dear boy, but a 4F would be just as good I admit.

A Sunday diversion from the West Coast Main Line is a surprise for the local spotters as 'Duchess' 4-6-2 No. 46236 'City of Bradford' hurtles out of Widdale Tunnel on the 1S57 'The Royal Scot'. The Duchess is finding the going easy as the ruling grade is a mere 1:100 as opposed to 1:75 over Shap and 1:69 over Shap!

The crew of Fairburn 2-6-4 Tank No. 42437 breath a sigh of relief together with some much needed fresh air as she emerges from the 2629 yd. long Rise Hill Tunnel on a semi-fast between Carlisle and Leeds

A brace of Ex:LMS Black 5's No.s 45157 'The Glasgow Highlander' piloting train engine 45156 'Ayrshire Yeomanry' on a heavy northbound sleeper destined for both Glasgow (St.Enoch) and Edinburgh (Princes St.)

The sleeper is making good ground on this fairly level stretch through Dentdale. I hope the occupants are enjoying the view.

That's it for today, hope you enjoyed.
