And just try to imagine the size of the playing board....😃

It could probably double as a cover for a snooker table!

And how many points would you get if you got "Rechtsschutzversicherungsgesellschaften" on a Triple Word Score?

Somebody's going to work it out.

Will it fit on a scrabble board?

Rechtsschutzversicherungsgesellschaften?

Amazingly, there's a real medical word in English that's even longer.

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosi

It's “a lung disease caused by inhaling very fine ash and sand dust”

But you might have to play Scrabble for a very long time to get enough tiles to spell that.

Latin surely?

But I think I must be missing something...

That's what I assumed at first, but on checking, it seems like it's a mongrel word.

Pneumono ultra microscopic silico volcano coniosi

Pneumono = Greek πνεῠ́μων (pneumōn)

Ultra = Latin ultrā-

microscopic = Latin microscopium, from Ancient Greek μικρός ("small") + σκοπέω ("I look at")

silicon = Latin silex ("silica")

volcano = Latin Vulcanus ("Vulcan") - not to be confused with dust in the Vulcan Foundry

coni = Greek (κόνις, kónis) which means dust

If they played Scrabble they'd probably call it "Buchstabenaufkachelnumwörterzubilden" (Letters on tiles to make words).

They do, and it’s called, er, Scrabble.

I thought German for Scrabble was "Einoverlonguntvorscriblytechincfahrt"

It’s even longer than that - there’s an “s” missing off the end (seriously!) 😐

We visited a National Trust place at the weekend, as we were in one of the rooms a family walked in.

"Which room's this?" asked the little lad.

"The lounge" said his Mum

"Oh. Where's the TV?"

Shared a smile with the Mum as she went on to explain that in those days, people did alien things like talking to each other, reading or playing games.

Whilst watching this interesting video of the physics of the Twin Towers collapses on 9/11, mention is made of the transit tunnels through the foundation - check out the choice of train! https://youtu.be/1NkBfLBov5Q?si=VIkPGVjTspRiLV6G&t=830

Badgers do dig tunnels underground...
