As the actual dinosaur-killer crater is in Mexico (Chicxulub - 200 km wide) it's another excuse to have a cob at the Mexicans.

And the actual crater from the impact that wiped out the dinosaurs, the Chicxulub crater on the Yucatan Peninsula, is 200km across. For a bit of fun, search for Chicxulub crater on Google. 2 2

McHenry in Baltimore; with the ghost of the Key Bridge* in the distance. Almost; as it has been a long while since I have visited the Fort. The cannon# are what makes me think that. *Just a bit north (Baltimore side) of the Key Bridge is (was?) a blue buoy that approximated the location of the vessel that Francis Scott Key was on when he wrote the Star-Spangled Banner (little did he know that there would be a whole lot more stars added!). I wonder how he saw the flag still flying, even with a god 'scope; it is quite a long distance. I once worked on a COE survey boat and we passed the buoy many times. I did ask Bud (the captain) if we could pause at the buoy so I could look at the Fort with a pair of binoculars. It gave me some thoughts about the whole event. #Those cannon in the photo post-date the English bombardment of the Fort by a number of years. Both sides used them in the War of Northern Aggression, the Confederacy had captured a few Union forts.. Edited 2 hours ago by J. S.
