Didn't NASA get a calculation seriously wrong? Can't remember if related to Pi or a metric conversion gone wrong. I know a plane ran out of fuel in Canada, because they mixed up the conversion from US gal to Kg.

billbedford
I've also heard that he wasn't hit by a bullet, since there was no sign of burning. The alternative is that he was hit by a shard of glass from the teleprompter.

I think the teleprompter option has been mentioned but some articles say that photos show them undamaged .

Although there is a photograph showing a bullet trail that has just passed his head. The course is too straight to be debris of any sort and at the correct angle to have come from the direction of the shooter

Quote The primary cause of this discrepancy was that one piece of ground software supplied by Lockheed Martin produced results in a United States customary unit, contrary to its Software Interface Specification (SIS), while a second system, supplied by NASA, expected those results to be in SI units, in accordance with the SIS. Foot-pound furlongs per fortnight* thruster calculations, SI navigation and insertion. * Not really a joke - it was "pound-force seconds".

RMweb Gold wombatofludham Posted July 17 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 17 If you are dreading the long school holidays being surrounded by bored anklebiters, perhaps this costume might be of interest that a well known, slightly insane Chinese retail website thought I would be interested in, thereby proving that paranoia about spyware and cookies is misplaced as no amount of spyware could have deduced I'd want to buy it (although it might have targeted me because they know I would make a joke about it and share it - oh bu**er). Anyway, why not dress up as a psychopathic Racoon stoned on acid and frighten your little daahlinks into terrified submission? Nightmares guaranteed or your money back. PS Has a built in fan to stop you melting inside all that faux fur. Batteries not included. 1
