pH
1 hour ago, steve1 said: “Stringline!” One of my sons walked most of the ex-British Columbia Railway mainline after it was taken over by CN, recording the geological and civil engineering features in CN terms for entry into an existing CN database. The guys from his company had a CN ‘minder’ with them. His instructions on what to do while a train passed on the single track were to stand on the inside of a curve if the train was going downhill, and on the outside of a curve if the train was going uphill. Not long after CN took over, partly as a result of incorrect marshalling of a train, and partly because of an assisting engine back in the train running in reverse(!), a freight stringlined and dumped a couple of cars of caustic soda into a salmon-bearing river. Not good news! 1

RMweb Gold Hroth Posted June 12 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 12 "Putting Baby to Bed" can be done in a drawer if a cot is not available, but ideally the drawer is removed completely and put somewhere safe before placing the baby in it...

RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted June 12 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 12 (edited) In Finland every Mother is given a box, provided by the Government, containing a baby starter kit; blankets, bottle, steriliser, nappies, dummy, blankets, mattress, the lot. Matress & blanky fit the box, which serves as cot/bed. These become treasured heirlooms, and an integral part of Finnish life. 'Gentlemen songsters out for a spree damned from here to eternity Lord, have mercy on such as we Baa, Baa, Baa'. Or, possibly, 'Bleating and babbling we fell on his neck with a scream Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream (the dream, the dream the dream, the dream the dream)'. Should you ever doubt that our ovine cousins are a Borg-like collective plotting the overthrow and enslavement of humanity and lulling us into a false sense of security with their constant acts of suicidal stupidity and 'gentle' natures, just look into one's eyes. It's black, pitiless, dead eyes, and be afraid, be a very fraid. When I'm in power, every shepherd will be equipped with a sub-machine gun, just in case... 1
