Steamport Southport Posted July 3, 2021 Share Posted July 3, 2021 To be honest it was the first photo I found that wasn't tiny or a close up of Wellington. And it did make me happy as I walked past there the other day for the first time in over a year. Went to WH Smiths in the station and then for a couple of pints in the North Western. I've got a photo somewhere of the dusty imprint it made on the glass. It seemed to have a surprised expression... It could be bigger but I only found the early 2000s webpage version... Its a pity that no attempt was made to visualise some Culture GSVs, which ranged from 3.5Km Desert class ships to 200Km System class ships. Also, the Nostromo only has the main Mother section, and not the cargo section, which would have made it significantly larger. We may, as Earth's resources diminish, be building very big, I mean moon sized, space stations to spread out into, and possibly planet sized ones that can run in their own orbits around the sun, with moon sized satellites. Only the very rich will be able to afford to live on-planet; imagine a council estate with a 25kilomile circumference.
