You did post it yesterday, I read then!

I do like the scrape marks.

I like the quandary, some drivers must (might) go through, with the road being off centre because of the footpath.

"Do I stay left, near the Arch side? Or do I mount the pavement and risk getting closer to the roof!"

The scrape marks tells all.

It has been said people get the leader they deserve!

My God - are we Scots such a truly evil race :o

Pity the C.R. Viaduct wasn't still there, the age old practise of drouthy Scots using it for a Sunday Night drink might have been restored!

Of course that comment could be turned on its head. That leaders get the people that they deserve.

Gyles Brandreth's famous quote from when he was MP for Chester

Well I knew I had contempt for my constituents but I was amazed to find the feeling was mutual.

Not as low as some of the bridges mentioned here, but its a low enough ratrun between Port Sunlight and Bebington under what was the GWR/LNWR Birkenhead Joint main line to Birkenhead Woodside (Now a Merseyrail shadow of its former self).

Available headroom isn't helped by the footpath to the right, and many white-van-men come to grief turning left into the bridge and trying to squeeze past oncoming vehicles already inside.  (At this point, the railway used to be 4 track, so the bridge is more of a tunnel!)
