There's a timeline for the raising of the bridge by 8 inches (to 12 foot 4 inches) in October-November 2019. The last two entries read:

Nov 5 – at 10:00 AM Gregson St was re-opened for traffic under the bridge.
Nov 26 – the first truck hit the crash beam

But the beam has clearly been hit multiple times.

Any low bridge is fair game and at 12ft 4in it is still low. Look for Montague Street bridge in South Melbourne. I've posted it more than once.

Pedantically, a bridge is never too low, it's what passes under it that is too high!

The date on that video is March 21 this year. The bridge was raised in October- November 2019. I believe a new beam was installed at that time - there’s been plenty of time for it to be hit multiple times since then.

My previous post was just meant to point out that raising the bridge (which was not likely to have been a cheap operation) didn’t keep it safe for very long.

I'll see your "Montague Street bridge" and lower it!

Merton St bridge, Altona, Vic.

Marriage: to be prevented from having sex, for even more money.

Divorce: you can have as much sex as you like, but do not have any money.

But that not a bridge on a major road, so it's cheating!

Is this a case of "Low Trumps"?

5'6" under the South Wales main line at Bishton, east of Newport.

I went through it in a Ford Fiesta and the low height still scared me.

It's the Limbo Bridge game.

I'm sure that Merton St Bridge has been raised  because I remember my dad driving under that many times (in the early 70s) and all us kids, in the back of a pale blue Falcon, would duck!

I have always thought that WDY, was a strange name for a Television Programme...

If you did what it said in the titles, you wouldn’t watch the programme! :D

Though I was never seen on the screen, I was involved in the making of one series of the programme....but no starring role for me. :(

It was one of those programmes that you would only watch if there wasn't anything on ITV at the same time. Normally summer holidays or Easter.

Certainly wouldn't have had me wanting to join a youth club.

For those that don't know it was a kids programme showing you how to do things set in a youth club. Usually simple cooking, making things and trying to get you to do something sporty like rock climbing.

One of the few programmes that you heard different accents though.

The series that I was involved in was set on a narrow boat on the canal...in North Wales in part....

Basically, a “gang” den in a boat....it’s amazing just how big that boat was on the inside...

TARDIS like in fact.;)

I used to like watching WDY? It was a bit of daft telly that helped while away the hols... I particularly remember the running joke of rock star sheep in one series, one sheep was playing a keyboard that had been renamed 'Ramaha'....

This is low and is a main road:

and this is a bus route:

OK not a main road and beaten (unercut?) by 5ft 6in local to me is this example on Jews Lane in Bath. Train line is the main line to Bristol
